How long was the longest time it ever took you to get over someone (they could be a lover, a dead relative, etc)?

What type of relationship did you have with them?

What I mean by "getting over someone" is: to stop missing them, or to fall out of love with them.

hmm, my grandmother died last year, and I'm still not over that.
I still feel kinda guilty cuz I never really got close to her...she's been in a hospital for as long as I could remember.

im still trying to get over someone...but i know i'll eventually get over it...
but when my grandfather died...it took awhile...i still kind of miss him from time to time...

about 10 months...or a year....time seems to blend together...bleh

Um, well not that long really. I'd say around a couple months. Yeah, nothing serious really happened to me.

deaths- 6 of them. i havent gotten over any. one of the deaths was a current boyfriend. i still love him. all of the deaths were friends. nobody i knew in my family has died

well i still havent gotten over him. and we broke up almost two years ago. but we talk on the phone almost everyday and he still isnt over me either. and we havent fallen out of love with eachother. so i dont really know. yea im lame, leave me alone.

It took me a while to get over my ex-boyfriend, about six months. It sucked.

well i feel completely head over heels for this one guy in november of last year and everytime i think i am over him i see his face and it's back to square one.

I'm still not over them so I can't say. At times months have gone by and I've tried desperately to convince myself that I'm over them, but I know it's not true. But yeah, I guess it would be like 3 years now. Pathetic, I know.

I never completely get over people who have made an impact in my life in some ways. There was always that reason why i liked them in the first place, and that doesn't go away just because maybe we didn't work out or something.

ugh, even if you think you're over it, sometimes its just not the same anymore and you still get jittery around them even if you dont like them anymore. at least thats how it is with me and my old crush. and i dont think i like him anymore..

honestly..its been about 17 years..i met him in preschool, we were best friends, had all the same classes throughout elementary, middle and high school..we went out 7th-9th grade..we broke up and i havent gotten over him yet..but i also think its because of the fact that he was my first love..and you never forget your first love..

it took me about 2 days to forget him. he was a jerk.

this one guy took me around ... seven months. he really did turn into a jerk. man i still remember those times in elementary school when we were best friends. but everyone changes so, whatever.

To get over a crush maybe about 3-6 months. Getting over someone who died i dont think you can ever get over someone who died. But yeah i wouldnt know becasue i dont know anybody who died or maybe i did but i wasent related or something like that.

I still miss my first boyfriend, though we broke up months ago
but mostly I still miss my best friend who commited suicide when I was 11....

Me and my ex broke up 4 months ago...and I am still not completely over him. With crushes...I can usually get over them in a couple of weeks to a month but with him it's so different...or maybe because he was my first "real" bf and love, and you can never really quite get over your first love...

well.. i really dont have the longest cause im still in love with the person... its been like 9 or 10 months now. Our relationship was steady at first then i started realizing he barely calls me back and hes always gone so i asked my best friend to go look what hes up to((she lived next door)) and she told me there was another girl there and they where making out, so i guess it was a cheating realationship, but everytime i talk to him hes soo sweet to me, but hopefully soon ill get over him.
