What did your mom say when you told her you got your first period? tehe, mine was awkward

I never told my mom when I first got my period. I was a bit embarressed and wanted to keep it to myself. I didn't know what I was doing though, so I don't believe I wore pads or anything. I got the summer before fifth grade, before they even teach you anything about puberty and periods. It sucked since I was absolutely clueless.

But I ended up telling my cousin, who was a few years older, when I spent the night over at our grandparent's house.. Which is when my mom found out.

Needless to say, she opened up some health program on the computer and started telling me about puberty, my period, and sex. The worst part was that she wanted my dad to talk to me about it too, but that didn't go by well ;)

I cried. LoL.
My mum just went, there there.

i was crying my eyes out! l ol and she's like "it's okay, you should be happy! You can give birth now! it's normal" lol...i remember it too well.

lol i put off telling her until like that evening ( got in in the morning) and was all hey mom, I got my period and I don't wanna talk about it, but if you could buy me some pads that'd be great. it was funny. i still just like, don't ever discuss it. that was a funny day

Haha. I told my mom I got my period, and she kinda just froze. Then she got up and started teaching me all this crap about it.

I remember I was really freaked out. I cried at school.

She smiled and asked if i knew how to put a pad.... tsh.

lol my mom didn't teach me anything, thank god. i guess she would have, had i asked though. the only thing that i worry is that i'm sure she's secretly told half the world.

Me: MOM! I got my period!
Mom: NU-UH! NO WAY! YOU'TE f**king LYING TO ME
Me: Uhm, yeah. I did.
::hands me a tampon::

haha thats funny ^. well umm i realized i got it right when i woke up so i called my mom since she leaves before i wake up and i told her:
me: mom i got my period
mom: oh wow are u sure its your period?
me: O_o yes mom im sure
mom: k put on a pad then

then when i got back from school:

mom: im so happy for you
me: why
mom: because now you're a woman and can have babies
me: yay O_o [sarcasm]

She was like, "congratulations!" and i'm like, "congratulations? congratulations?? are you crazy?"

I got mine the last day of our vacation. I couldn't walk the cramps were so bad. I didn't really need to tell her, she just understood. She let me lay on the couch while they packed everything, so I felt bad. But she said it was all fine, she had really bad cramps her first time too. It really wasn't awkward.

my mom just took me to the store and got me some pads.. I'm glad she didn't make a big deal about it!

i dont remember. oh..i was at my aunt's when i had my period.

I got to stay home from school the next day

haha, I was such a baby about it because I started crying..but my mom was cool about it and gave me pads obviously.

I was at my grandmas when I got my first period...and I had to call my mom and tell her. She freaked out and kept asking if I was okay and if I wanted her to come get me. She was really worried..I don't know why. But she was. She ended up coming to showing up at my grandmas about an hour after I called.

my mom just said
"oh finally. good for you. there are pads in the bathroom. you know how right?"

i got my first one at my friends house but i put off telling my mom b/c i thought i was so nasty and i cried on the toilet i had no clue what to do

I was like noo.. and she was all happy telling my whole house. I was so mad at her! lol

she was working at the restaurant and i like busted into the kitchen and whispered it to her. she just ignored me. =(

my mom was in cali to visit someone. I was w/ my daddy He had to go in the store and get me some pads. He was like come in so you can pick out what you need. I was like... no! So I sat in the car feeling all embarassed hehhee

"aww you're growing up!"

i dint tell my mOm she jus fOund out kOsz i was using her pads.

mOm: are yu using my pads?
me: yeah
mOm: ill buy yu yur own
me: ok
mOm: go eat dinner.

Haha, yep same here.

i told her through my grandma ...im more close to her... lol

Mom ::Aww, my baby's growing up.::
Me :You're kidding me right?:
Mom ::Soon you're dad's going to be kicking your boyfriend's asses out of the house.::
Me :Oh yeah, thanks for the great encouragment, I think I'm going to go throw myself into walls now.:
Mom ::Okay, honey, remember if you have sex which you won't until you're married, you can get impregnated, oh, and have fun w/ that.::

Haha, I had such a laugh.

i first got it when i was in mcdonalds. after my mom came home that afternoon she just smiled. then i started laughing. thats about it...

she waznt suprised lol

me:mom i think i'm getting my period
mom: ohh
me:okk
- mom gives me tea-

To be honest, I don't remember.
I think she was just like, "okay. Need anything?"

i havent had mine but i remember my sister ha it was so funny!

i walked into the house after skool and saw my sister's panties laying on the ground in the bathroom all bloody ( it was SO gross!) and i screamed! ha. i was like "wat the heck is going on!??!?" then she came runnin out of her room and shushed me and told me that she got her period and i was like "o i thought ud been raped!" and she was all like "eww no!" then my mom walked through the door just then, saw the undies and freaked out! my dad was rite bhind her and was freaking out 2! ha. it was certinly a family xperience. we still wont leave her alone about it! lol.

my mom was like ok you can go to the park now .. because i was about to go to the park rite before i noticed .. and ya

I got my first period when I Was working out on our excercise machine...my stomach started to really really hurt so I stoped...and then I went up stairs and took an advil than wen tto the bathroom cause something was making may underpants wet ya, so I saw the blood and went ot my room and changed underwear than put on a pad my mom had bought me before jsut in case and went downstairs and said "I think I got my first period" and she was all like "omg, do you have your pad in?" and stuff and I Said ya and then she went to the rest of the family an said "leslie got her first period" and my bros were like "what's a period?" (they were stupid back then..not that they arn't now ) she didn't really explian it to them which I am glad of....hmm, it wasn't that bad...altohug the stomach ache was horrible....the only embarrising part was when she todl my grandma....I donno, for some reaosn it was jstu more embarrising...

I told her I had my period..and she just went into the closet to get pads and to teach me all I would need to know about it..

My mom said, "OMG REALLY?!"...yup...I guess it's normal..

When I got my first period I was sleeping. when I woke up I just remember changing my underwear like 3 times that day. I had no idea what was going on. and it didnt look like blood. My mom just gave me pads and sent me on my way "read the instructions" was her advice

I started to cry, because I was really confused and thought she'd get mad. My mom laughed, and saw "Aww"

"Omg. Did you get a pad? Make sure you bring extra pads to school. Make sure you always change your pad and underwear. Is there a lot of blood? When did you get it? When did your period start? make sure you wear dark pants to school when your period comes, and blah blah blah." -cough-

i was riding my bike down to swimteam practice, then i get there with a great suprise, and my sofies covered in blood i knew i couldn't swim...so i just called my mom. i went home, she gave me a box of tampons, and that was the end of it.


she didn't even say congradulations, and she told my dad!

I told my sister...then my sister told everyone else that was in the apartment (my mom and brother) while I was in the bathroom reading the instructions on a package of pads. Came back out and went along like nothing happened...haha my sister was crying out of joy. Later that week, when me and my mom were on the way to the store. And she said "so....you got your period, huh?" Then I said "yeah". And that was the end of it.

me: ..my period..
mom: no f**king way..
me: jesus effin christ, mom.
I start walking away.
mom: oh yeah.. take these.
She throws me a pad.
me: way to go, mom.

Ha, i was crying hysterically about it..i was afraid of it..and my mom just told me what to do and everything

me: wtf?
mom: excuse me?
me: um... yeah i said WHATS THIS
mom: let me see. open the bathroom door!!!!
me: (opens door) OMG mom i got it
mom: it?
me: im a lady. look
mom: OoOOo lala let me explain more........................

I didn't know I had my first period because I was a tombody and didn't care what was behind me. My mom was like "SUSAN! there's blood in your pants!" then we go inside the bathroom together and told me that I'm having my period. I had no clue what she was talking about. First, I thought it was a serious thing because when I look at my bloody underwear, I was so shocked. I couldn't really hear what she said because I was so scared. I was like half blanked. My mom told me to do this and that...because I didn't know what it was haha. I wasn't embarrassed either. She was just so happy that I'm a lady now... hm something like that haha

lol yeah, i just kind of walked away after I told her and haven't brought it up since, thank god

she just shruged and was like

me: i got my period today
mom: oh, really?
me: yeah
mom: that's nice

she didn't like give me pads or anything or like explain it. haha
