It's nice, overall, but the sidebar is a little too narrow for me. I really like the background of the banner, though. Good job. :)

did u see how the img is a big box and no blending between it and the bg color. Need to do some bleding.

other than that the transparent effect look pretty cool.
yes it does look too down, move it up about 30px.
