This is a remake of one of my earlier poems. I extended it quite a bit..I'd appreciate some feedback if possible.


Can’t you understand?
I want to be by your side; holding your hand
If I can’t do that then I’ll stand by you forever as a friend
But my feelings can’t amend

Remember that I’ll always be there for you
Just because we can’t be like we used to: just us two
But I won’t stand in the way of your happiness
Even if I’ll be in the shadows of loneliness

I’ll be the shoulder that you can cry on
Even if I must comfort you till dawn
It seems that you are far happier with him
Then it seems that hope for me is dim

Now I know we’ve had our differences
But I’ve fallen in love with your essence
Even though I know that I’ve lost you
I’ll be by your side, every time my heart anew

Seeing you happy is what I want the most
Watching your smile as we walk down the coast
Was one of the things I reminisce about…
You are my essence…the one I can’t live without…

It seems that I can’t forget the way you always made me happy
It’s the days of loneliness that I wish we could be
Maybe you don’t see it but inside my heart’s breaking
And without you near…All I feel is this aching…

This is all I have to say…
That without you…My life is in complete dismay…
I’ve said it before…and I’ll say it once more
You’re the one I’ll forever adore…

I think it's damn good. I'm really tired so I'm getting worse as a cridict. Sorry. lol.
