it took the other people who heard it about 20 minutes, so i guess i am dumb

THE RIDDLE

A woman shot her husband, held him under water for 5 minutes and then hung him. Then she took him to dinner. What is the woman's job?

HINTS:
_ the job is a real one and a normal one
_ she was not mad at him
