The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks

There were only two part in the entire book that I actually enjoyed. 1) The sex scene. 2) When he talks about silence.

I loved every single book that's ever been assigned in school.

I recently just finished The Cather in the Rye and I honestly expected way more than I got.
I plan on picking up One Flew Over the cuckoo's nest, 1984, A Brave New World, and The Satanic Verses. This should keep me happy for awhile.

Well I don't really remember my favorite book authors. But right now I'm currently reading one of Judith McNaught's book called "The Night Whispers" It's like a mission to spy on someone. More like a mystery.

I have a morbid obsession with Harry Potter, but this is the closest after that.

Augusten Burroughs - Running With Scissors, Dry, and Magical Thinking...all are freakin' brilliant books. "Running With Scissors" is about his f*d up childhood, a memoir of sorts...it's a hell of a book, really emotional and sarcastic. An all-around great book. Dry and Magical Thinking are "continuations" of RWS. Dry is about his adult life and Magical Thinking is a collection of short stories about people he knows or situations in his life....

David Sedaris - Me Talk Pretty One Day....kind of in the vein of Running With Scissors, a memoir of one guy's life...not as f*d up but still pretty good

Aimee Cooper - Coloring Outside The Lines: A Punk Rock Memoir ...another memoir, this one is about one chick's experiences in the early 80's punk scene. A very fun and well-told story. I'd encourage all punk/rock/hardcore music fans to read this book.

Dee Dee Ramone - Lobotomy: Surviving The Ramones - Hard-hitting and very real. An account of The Ramones career and music...kinda graphic, but a must read for anyone who calls theirself punk or is interested in the roots of punk.

Ok, I'm done with memoirs....here's a few "real" books.

Rob Thomas - Rats Saw God and Slave Day - Excellent books, I highly recommend both. Warning: Slave Day might offend some...

Chuck Palahniuk - Lullaby, Survivor, Invisible Monsters and Choke - Really great books, all of them. Unique style and messed up characters....

Philip Pullman - His Dark Triliogy - If you like Harry Potter and are looking for something similar, then check this out...it's 3 books, "The Golden Compass", "The Subtle Knife", and "The Amber Spyglass". All tell the tales of orphan girl in Victorian times who possesses a gift that's really more of a curse, the ability to read the golden compass. This gift gets her into trouble and the following books tell of her adventures.

....that's all for now. cool.gif

Christopher Rice is a brilliant author. He's written three books thus far (A Density Of Souls, Snow Garden, and Light Before Day) and I adore them all.

I also liked Scott Heim's Mysterious Skin which has been made into a movie as well.

I used to really like Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' books as well, but I'm not as much a fan of them anymore.

I liked Elizabeth Wurtzel's Prozac Nation as well.

I'm such a bookworm.

Douglas Coupland is rather awesome. Currently reading Hey Nostradamus! and I can't put it down.

Another recent favourite is The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime. Can't wait to see what else Mark Haddon comes up with.
