we've been studying couplets in my english class.. & we need to analyze specific ones.. hmm.. i dont even know if im posting this in the right place (sorry if im wrong ) but i really dont get one of the couplets i have to analyze! can neone help me?

Anyways. Maybe you should put up the whole poem instead of just the couplet, so I can get a better understanding of it. Or is this couplet just by itself and she didn't give you the whole poem to analyze?

Im guesisng it means when humans do bad things soon enough karma will come through.

I think it's saying how humans try to control their surroundings, nature, animals, etc... and their control ends up destroying/hurting themselves inside.

it could also mean someone who wants to have a laugh at someone else's expense, such as a prank, joke, insult, hurts other people a lot more than they think.

Hey we did this in english too!! its about the hair being cut off right? Well what i think it means that whenever one makes up their mind to do something (in this case something bad) they always seem to find the perfect items to carry on their plans. >.<

yah im pretty sure that came from the rape of the lock... you can look it up and maybe that will help in your analysis... but basically in the old days if a girl gave a guy a lock of her hair then that was some pretty serious relational stuff... this man really likes this one woman and decides he'll cut off a lock without her knowledge... and basically his ill will is doing the cutting and the instrument talked about are the scissors... i hope that helps abit
