Friends Like You
It is because of friends like you
Individuals such as yourself
Each with the unique personalities you have acquired
Throughout the days of your lives
That have kept me here
And apart from Death and the rest who have gone before me
As you read through these lines
Too so, you have read my life
In essence as you read
These words of mine
I have also shown you my life
Entrusting that to you I have just done
Pen meeting paper
Marks upon it that require much effort
Presistance as well to destroy and erase
This account of my friendship to you
Something I’ll try to never take away
As said, it is friends like you that have truly kept me alive
Shaping me into the person I’ve become
Whether in your eyes it be a creation or an abomination
Days spent with you all, my life spent
Wishing they’ll never come to an end
For the sun to never set
And when it has, for night to start over again
You’ve taught me so much
How true you all are, each being unique
Showing me a different side of the world
And the different faces of life
Revealing to me those who deceive in this life
Those who slither their way through life itself
For that I thank you all
Teaching me so much, making me so much more
Furthermore, for keeping me alive
Could not have done it otherwise…
Could I?
