ok so here's the thing, my laptop is realling getting on my nerves.

I open IE (internet explorer) and my home page is automatically turned into a search page, i get an error message about how run.dll doesn't work and my norton antivirus is detecting all my temp internet files as viruses and everytime i push "ok" another one pops up and even if i stay here all day turbo clicking, it won't go away. o, and everything is running REALLY SLOW.

to see what i mean, i took a screen shot of it:

these are the following antiviruses/antispyware i have installed:
Norton 2005
Bitdefender
Ad Aware SE
Spybot Search and destroy
Mc Afee

I have run each and everyone of these all day and for some reason they detect things, i delete them, then run the search again and THERE IT IS AGAIN! Something is copying this virus/spyware and cannot be detected.

any suggestions? i'm THISCLOSE TO throwing this piece of junk out the window. Thanks in advance.

use " control panel " to get rid of the main file that you dont want. this is a wrong thread, your suppose to post this in the technology forum.

I don't get what you mean, if you're talking about add/remove files, that's not going to work b/c what ever it is, it's not something i could remove like that.

^ yea w.e that control panel thing was vague.

Considered reinstalling/reformatting windows?

or maybe getting firefox.

if you want to fix your IE, you may have to google and extensively research your virus. It took my bro a whole day to track down and successfully rid his laptop of one virus.

first, get mozilla/firefox. don't use IE, because there are many vulnerabilities that allow websites to install spyware with activex. run spybot/adaware, get rid of all the spyware on your computer. then, restart, scan again, and it should be empty. if not, there is another way, but it's a bit complicated, so try that first and if not come back here.

Don't use Internet Explorer. Use firefox (www.mozilla.org), just like Kryogenix said. You most likely got all the spyware/viruses from cheap sites and file sharing if you don't know what your doing. So, my suggestion to you is to scan thoroughly with all your programs, and take off everything. Next, right click your start menu and click explore. Then go to your hard drive, usually C:\, and click Program Files. Or you can just open My Computer and type C:\Program Files at the address bar. Anyway, reply back listing all the folders you found that you are very suspicious of. I.E. GAIN, eZuLa, etc. Once I see what your bad program files are I can help you out. You'll have to remove all those bad program files, and look if there is an uninstaller, which I seriously doubt.

Thanks guys but i've tried running/scanning EVERYTHING but it didn't work, so in a last resort, i just ran my system recovery and reverted everything to when i first got my laptop.

Thanks for the help though.
