Savor
Around the sun I go again
The flashes of blinding never ending
This pain which agonizes my eyes
Yet still I can’t look away
From you
Everything you mean to me
Like the sun means to the world
The world revolving around the sun
Year after year
It never changes
Yet these spheres have no eyes
The sun never seeing all that orbits around it
Giving a select individual life
A select individual world
And I wonder if you see me
Floating in this nothingness of space
Waiting for you to turn around
Maybe lonely planets exist too
Much like I
Tossed from all that I’ve orbited
Losing touch from where I was created
Falling out of reach
Too soon with my life before
Too late to hold on with all the rest ahead
Still our eyes meet for a non-existent moment
A lie to myself that even to me won’t materialize
Waiting for another chance
A countless time
That maybe this orbit will change
Around the sun once more
In hopes of catching a glimpse of something else
But then I guess
You can’t forgive me for everything I’ve done
