okay, yeah, pardon me for being so asian and mindy-like but... which colleges are all of you aspiring to attend and more importantly, why do you want to attend those specific colleges? just trying to figure out what exactly motivates teens toward their proclaimed "dream schools."

edit: seems like a lot of people in our generation are planning to pursue careers in law.. what attracted you guys to the profession? in fact, whatever field you might want to enter, what attracted you to that field?

U.C. Berkley. Close to home and a recent London statistics thing rated U.C. Berkley as the 2nd best university in the WORLD. And it's diversity... manz, i checked the place out one time and i wanna go so badly.
heyyfrankie
i want to go harvard law. because i want to be a lawyer and i am sure that harvard is a really school. but i am sure i will never get into there. i guess i will just have to settle with duke. rolleyes.gif

I have a good idea of where I want to go (I'm only a sophomore in HS). Cedar Crest College and Virginia Commonwealth University because both have really good forensic science programs.

the colleges i want to go to are u.c. berkeley, william & mary, reed, and whitman. why i want to go there is they're all great schools, and after high school i want to have the oppurtunity to get a good education and good job.
Nicolatofu

ya me too...well more specifically the campus in Manoa..or i want to go to a school on the west coast or japan...if i go to the campus in Manoa i can be close to my family..Well for the west coast it would be a good chance to get away from my parents..lol..but i would still be around asian ppl..(it would be kinda strange for me to be in a place where theres no asian..)and for japan it would help me improve in japanese...
snak3y3z1001
if i fail boot camp ill just goto UB. heh i randomly picked my colleges o_o
silver-rain
Well, I really want to go to Columbia University, since it's nearby and it's a good school. Also, if I got accepted, my parents won't have to pay the full tuition because they work there. But I have to work really hard this term to bring my averge up...
tweeak
currently, i want to go to the university of georgia, becuase its one of the best schools that i can get the HOPE scholarship for. if i cant get in (because thanks to the HOPE scholarship, its become a much more competitive school) id prefer to go out of state, although i dont know what i want to major in, so i havent thought about this enough to know where
DanielleMaria05
Um, I wanted to go to Ohio State, but I didn't get in, so, I'm going to Ohio University in the fall.
EmmalieV
im not sure yet..
emptyminded
I'd go to any school far far away from this piece of poop of a town. Better criteria, good designing majors.
christinaaa
I don't know where I wanna go, cause I simply don't know what I wanna be. It's toughh!

My parents really want me to go to Princeton 'cause they sent me an application out of the blue.... I think I'd like to go to Northwestern or Stanford.
BeyondElite
Either Ateneo De Manila University or University of the Philippines Manila to study law. I want to be a lawyer when I grow up. _smile.gif
SandRAWRz
i want to go to NYU....cause it's a good school and i get to stay in NY
Just_Dream
UCSD.. I heard it had the first pharmaceudal (sp?) college in Calfornia a few years back. My dream career is to be a pharmacist, although I don't know for sure if I'll be attending UCSD.

I really want to go to school in New York City.. That would be awesome. :] I don't even know what college to apply for, over there. I'm still undecided where I truly want to go.
innovation
for those of you who mentioned the ivies-- why, people, why? what makes you want to go? the pressure? the prestige? the rigor? the programs? and what's your academic "hook?" i can't seem to find one..
Mireh
I've always wanted to go to columbia or brown, cause they have pretty good writing programs.

I've also wanted to go to Cornell, (for hotel managment, cause hotel managment sounds os fun =D)
Mr. Slowjamz
ive recently applied to a CUNY Hunters College , C.W. Post , Seton Hall , Five towns College , and Berklee College of Music , as a Mus.B and a minor in B.F.A. still undecided of what major too pick.....so far ive been accpeted to one of them ...still waiting for the other 3 _unsure.gif ....hopefully in the next 2 years i could transfer to Manhatten School of Music _smile.gif
EXPLO5ION
I live in Oregon and I am probably going to go to OSU or UO. Only because my parents dont want me to go out of state because its too expensive. But if i do go out of state, I would like to go to NYU. happy.gif
Gypsy Eyes
PRATT University- it's one of the top art school in the country, and right smack in the middle of my favorite city, new york. I would already have a place to stay in my 21 year old aunts penthouse apartment.

Juliard- for singing/dancing, hopefully going to manhatten school for the arts will give me a head start

edit://xiMiJix: berklee? are you serious?! I took some highschool classes last summer there. it's amazing
njgurl412
my dream schools are George-Town and Fordham university. Because i want to be a lawyer and i don't want to go to an ivy league school cause they cost a lot of money.

i wanted to go to ucla, but my mom wants me to go to an indiana school so it's cheaper. or the chicago school of art.
glit_gal
I want to major in premed so i'm hoping to go to UCONN for my first choice and it's also my first choice because i know a couple of people who got accepted their or are already going there. But since i moved recently i really havn't looked seriously into other colleges besides that.
salcha
UC Merced or LA, Cornell University
still deciding on a major.
whomps
Stanford, because I don't feel right going to a UC or out of state. And it's not that far.. plus it's a good school. And it'd blow the shit away from my aunts.

i think that if you are intelligent enough to go to the ivies, have the drive, know what you're getting yourself into, and are willing to be committed to staying for all 4 years and working hard at it, then you should go. just because you're smart enough doesn't mean you have to go. my friend is one of the smartest people i know [and believe me, he tells math jokes. he's a math nerd, and he finished calculus in freshman year] and he chose not to go to an ivy league because he got a full scholarship to another school that was also an extremely good school. okay, sorry, just pointing out that the ivies are not the way to go if it's just for the name, but if you truly want to go, then that's good.

i got into illinois [urbana-champaign] and i got some scholarship money there, so i have an 80% chance of going there. originally i wanted to go to UNC chapel hill but it's extremely hard to get in, especially for out of state students, and i didn't get in, so it looks like i'm going to illinois =] i'm excited =)

i dont know why, but i know i will go to an ivy league unless i completely mess up hs. i'm only an 8th grader so...

cornell, bc, uconn, columbia, princeton, yale
korbana05
The University of Austin because its close to home, an awesome school, and its like #2 in Pharmacy (the major I plan on pursuing) >.<
Yemmerz
Rutgers in New Jersey. It's not ivy league. The school has strong programs in the two majors I'm thinking about. (Psychology and Law)

Besides the majors and how prestige it is...I look at location. I want to have fun in college too. :)
BlissfulIgnorance
well i want to go to the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale..i love that skool..its like home to me..i like to be around ppl that have the same intrest as me..as fun as it is to be complemented by others on my drawings...id rather be around ppl that would be like"wow thats nice... wanna see my drawing?" or sumthing like that... ive been drawing since i was 5..i started out drawing the power rangers lol..so thats why i am so interested in that collage and no other...

WrathOfOnigo
I want to go to the University of Maryland [Its like an hour away from where i live]. Its close to home so i can ask my parents for money alot and also its better than going to Montgomery College [Gosh i really hope i don't have to go there]. Maryland is also a pretty descent college and the best i can get into whistling.gif . I am only in Middle School though so my concern for college is limited -_-;.
OriskybusinessO
stanford isnt a ivy leauge school. i first wanted ot go to harvard (law) but then i talked to my parents and they said its too overrated, which it is. So im hoping to go to stanford. Its in CA, its great.
