I have an old pc I'm giving to my cousin. I want to erase my history and stuff. How do you do it? Can you make it so its wiped clean?

If you want the operating system and software still on it, but the internet history and all erased, you do that in Internet Options. If you want your computer all wiped, and like-new, than put the operating system disk in.

try reformatting your computer, then reinstalling, if you really want to clean it.

Reformatting is the best way to clean everything out leaving no trace.
Depends on whether u have the software to do so.

reformatting only erases the index of the drive...
the actual information is still there.
buy a drivewipe utility that will overwrite all info with zeros.

no, reformatting erases the index portion of the drive.
it's basically like tearing out the table of contents and index of a book.
sure, you can't SEE the information with your comptuer, and it looks blank, but there are programs that can retrive this information.
