anywayz, i love this painting...im glad you didnt color the hand n the butterfly....they look awesome black and white with the colourful background...for the hand, maybe you could shade it? i dont know...just a suggestion ^_^...for the butterfly..i have nothing to complain..really love the design

i'm a personal fan of colours, and there are so many in this piece i think i'm in love. perhaps i'll post some of my paintings later on. it seems as if the butterfly is barely escaping...

...or about to be caught by that hand. it makes me sad. thought i interpret on a biased level due to the overwhelming depression in my mind, i still think it's quite sad.

[without reading any entries] my take is the putting of emotions/moments into words, how once we try to grasp and label such an ethereal thing, it loses all power and meaning (as the butterfly dies).
and now that i review the previous comments--far off. lovely concept!

umm...anything can be beautiful, even in black and white. the hand is either pointing or releasing the butterfly to show how plain it is in such a lively and colorful world, but the butterfly is still pretty, no matter what color it is or how plain it is.

thank you, but it's more showing that she is letting go of the black and white, and starting to live in color. It's actually modeled after my hand.
