Well, my english teacher assigned an essay to find a song that relates to one of the characters or the whole overall story and write a 1 1/2 page essay on it explaining how it relates. I am more of a fob so finding songs are a little difficult for me. :-D

Choose a character, describe him/her in your own words and perhaps someone will be able to help you match the character with a song.

i would choose the lead character (dam i forgot his name) and do it about him.

Holden is a pedophile. =P Find some of Michael Jackson's songs. Your teacher would get a riot if you supported as to why Holden is a pedophile (many sources).

Holden isn't a pedophile, but he's a very depressed-type kid who's confused and doesn't know what to do with himself. Remember, he talks about wanting to kill himself but not wanting people to look at him after he's dead.

try some radiohead or something. think of an angry song maybe, or one that's very mood-swingy.

i'd say use classical music because you can interpret that anyway you please.

wow that really was a great book, i actually read that one for fun lol. Kinda disturbing in some ways tho. He was very confused, you never knew where his life was gonna go, he was kinda suicidal..and was basically looking for love everywhere.He was angry too, alot of bad habits... But i mean he cared about certain people with all his heart. like his sister and that girl jane i think? So i mean it's easy to find a song like that haha. I can't think of any one song specificially...but yah.

That book was overrated, yet I enjoyed it nonetheless.
