Emo to me is someone who wears Weezer style glasses and dresses like they are so cool. Their pictures they have on the internet are where they pose and tilt there head slighty and don't directly look at the camera and make either an intense or serious or slightly sad look and to top it off they use band quotes under it and/or make it black and white. Something like that....

is that a dictionary reference? cause thats not all that accurate. its referring to the shortened version of emotional, but not the music style all that much.

Yeah, I thought it meant emotional.. well.. I know the sterotypical "EMO" person, but I can't actually describe it..

ditto. i listen to emo and also metal, hard rock & techno. i guess im "emotional" with the things going on in my life right now but i dont wear only black stuff either. so yeah.

uh. emo definitly isnt saying i'm so emo...its supposed to just be a state of mind and a genre of music, but now its a trend. case in point: look at all the blogrings on xanga.

actually, emo stands for emotive rock.

and no, it doesn't stand for emotional music, or emotional rock. all music is emotional.

i remember browsing around createblog one time and some person said that whoever calls themself emo isnt really emo or whatever.. i sorta think thats true. haha :x

"Emo" is just short for Emotion
So really you cant say "Im emo" cause thats like saying "Im emotion"
BUT the media has twisted the word into something its not, and so now the definition isnt "emotion" its "depressed" or something along those lines.

emo is soooo annoying.

I apologize for affending anyone who claims to be emo but I laugh at all of em. No, I don't mock their sense of style or their choice of music, I mock their actions and their 'non-conformist' attitude toward life.

emo is short for EMOtional. and that exactly descibes the type of music, its emotional. its when the writer writes down when he or she really feels. i personally like emo music, but, i wouldn't call myself emo though.

Teenagers or people in general who are emotional.
