Does anyone else have parents that wont really let them date??
Im 16 and my parents wont let me. Although... i have a b/f that i love more then anything in the world! I will tell them some day. They know we like each other and when i ask them if i can hang out with him... it takes them days to give me an answer.
(if you want to get some idea WHY) I've grown up in a christian home all my life and so these standards and rules have been all i've known. (don't get me wrong, most christian familys i know don't have these rules. And i do understand them...) But once i met someone and fell in love with him... it seemed a lil rediculous. But i love my parents and respect them.... which is why i haven't told them... right.

I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to date.. even though I do it anyway. I don't really discuss that kind of stuff with my parents. (I don't discuss anything with them for that matter)... They barely know me. Eh w/e.

Well, my sister brings along her boyfriend to our house and my mother doesn't seem to mind.
My jokingly told me not to date until I was married.
But yeah, I don't think I have any rules on dating judging on the way they let my sister have a boyfriend.
I don't intend to get a boyfriend, so yeah.

I think my mom is ok with it as long as he's a good person and I really like him. I'm not sure about my dad because he's really protective, but the last time I invited a guy friend to my house he was ok with him.

I have b/fs, and my parents used to have this huge rule that I couldn't, but I did anyway. When they asked me about it, I told them openly. They really don't care now...as long as they know we don't mess around. They don't let me go on dates that often, so I just tell them I'm meeting some friends at the movies or something.
((I live in a Christian home, too, and I agree. Not everyone has this strict of rules.

I've never confronted my parents with it.
They'd get ANGRY if I went out on a date.
They'd be REALLY mad, & they dont belive in all that stuff.
Pity me.

yeah.. all i have to say is that your parents suck. i was aloud to go on a date since sixth grade. lol. my parenst are pretty laid back a lot of the time. they had to meet him first, though. since then, i've become a bit more... umm... bad and yeah... so i don't let them meet the guys i date. lol. some of them are really nice, but they're older. so yeah.....

I'm not allowed to date until I'm 16. (In... 6 months. *twirls finger* Yahoo.) It doesn't really matter though... we're moving and I'm not really looking at the moment.
