If the WAR itself is broad, then specify which part of the war you would like to talk about. There's weaponry or military, geography, lifestyle, role of women... etc.

Oo..We're doing a research project in History too! Our teacher handed out our topic. Mines is..The New York Draft Riot. There's tons more.
