Not sure where to put this so Mods feel free to move it.

My 17 y/o god-sister was in a bad car wreck Friday night. She's in the critical care unit of a hospital thats 2 hours away from where I live. My family went Saturday to visit her and stayed the night in a hotel to see her again today. My god-sister was thrown from the backseat out the front window during the car accident which ruptured her spleen, broke her arm in 4 places, cut her face up pretty bad, and she's having trouble breathing. She's going under surgery tomorrow and I'm incredibly worried because I'm so far away.

I was wondering if anyone else had been through a similar experience and had any advice. Anything from things I should send her to how I relax a little bit would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, first off I'm terribly sorry, and I hope everything works out! flowers.gif
My best friend was in a car accident and was in the hospital for 2 weeks, she broke her arm, nothing really serious. But she's fine now. Just be there for her in her times of need, and hopefully she heals soon!

wow, thats horrible...i'm so sorry to hear that and i offer my condolences. but no, i haven't experienced anything like that at all.

wow, i think you should just be supportive, let her know that you are there for her. that's pretty much all you can do. send her flowers, balloons, nvm, these are too mundane, send her stuff that she likes, like some cute earrings or something so she'll cheer up.

Woah that's horrible! Well, my mom got into an accident once, like the car behind her hit her which moved her to car into the fast lane, and then a taxi cab hit her car again and it was total damage, but my mom was totally fine, no broken bones, bruises, or cuts. It was like a miracle..

Well, you can't do much, just hope for the best and show your support. Hopefully she'll be back to normal soon.

All I can say is that be there for her. You don't have to actually be there but you can be with her in spirit. =]

I've experienced something similiar.... my friend was in a bad car wreck, tore up all his ligaments and muscles on his right arm....

Aww, I'm sorry. Ther's not much you can do except make her a card and if possible, go visit her before surgery. But remember, it's all the little things that count wink.gif Hope she gets better though.

Thank you guys for everything. She lost some of her CDs in the wreck so I'm gonna burn her copies of some of mine that she said she'd like to have. I'm also gonna get her some stuff for the room. I watched hours of Comedy Central before I stopped feeling so numb. Knowing that I'll see her next weekend helps some. Crossing my fingers and praying to God that the surgery goes well. Thanks for the support you guys.
