Have you read the posts in this topic? The word 'computer' has been posted like five times, which obviously means that 'puter' means 'computer'. Unless you were being sarcastic. x]

firstly, computer. some words you abbreviate, others you don't.
anyways, no you can't get the stuff back because it was all deleted. there is no way for you to restore the computer to a more recent date because now it only knows the date when you got it.

Sorry there isnt anyway you can get your stuff back. In order restore it to when it was first bought EVERYTHING is deleted off your hard drive and then the computer system is installed again. So no there aint no way to get it back.
I just hope you have DSL to get your songs back fast.

You can abriviate and say puter, it's perfectly fine, I use it sometimes myself. Anways what probably happened was that windows was reinstalled as such, your harddrive has been formated and everything is gone. Of course you can plop down money to try and restore the data but that's gonna cost you and it isn't necessarily going to restore everything. That would be data recovery and formating is supposed to wipe everything out but stuff leave imprints on the harddrive so you CAN recover stuff, but it's difficult and you need special software, that said you're basically screwed. Have a nice day.

is it just me, or does puter sound dirty?
anyways, i don't know how to help you, but this is why you should back up your hard drive.

get a portable harddrive and keep it updated with the files on your computer or burn the files you want on your computer on to cds.

It sounds like the guy who did this had actually restored the computer with the system disks. This is known as reformatting the "puter" as you put it lol. Also known as rerolling the box and so on and so forth. But what he did was wipe your computer completely clean. Either there was a major error in the system files like they got corrupted or something or he was trying to destroy something he didnt want anyone to find. Oh and there is no way you are getting anything back that you lost. Basically your computer is just as when you first got it.

don't listen to these people.
you can recover data from a reformated disk.
just search online
you can probably find some free ones; or some ones that cost 20 bucks.
because when you format your drive, you're not erasing anything but the drive index of sorts....
it's like ripping out the table of contents of a book.
you can still read things.
so it's recoverable.
unless he used a drive wipe program. which would rewrite 0s or 1s over the entire drive.
