It's been a loooooong while since I last vectored. I currently have a vector collection at a grand total of 2, so I thought was finally time to work on a 3rd one.

Time spent: 2 days, on/off.

Let me know what you guys think and any tips or suggestions on how I can improve my technique. I am still new at this so some criticism/feedback is appreciated.

Hmm... it must be because everyone has different monitor settings. The background is actually actually a gradient that goes from lighter gray to darker gray and you should still be able to see the hair.

Wow, that's good, but maybe more shading in the hair? It looks so much like you!

wow good job! It looks just like you. I think a colored background like turquoise would look more flattering because the grey is a bit too dark and almost blends in with your hair. Dang I wanna start vectoring again.....

Thats a good vexel. But maybe its just me on my crappy computer, but I can't really tell that your face has depth to it. You know what I mean? Like your face is juts flat/2-D. But i think that is very good.

I think its a VECTOR. Just to clear things up.

hmm... your head's tilted and from what i can see in your avatar, your left face (your left, not the viewer's) could be shaded a little more. shadows could be emphasized a little more. and you have this line thing on your right cheekbones. i can see where it comes from with the original picture, but as a vexel, it looks a little awkward. that's just my opinion.

i love your style. KEEP UP THE VECTORING !!! STOP STOPPING!!! i loved the "let her fly" vector.

You're right about the shading. I'm a little "shy" to add more shadows and highlights. When I do so, it comes off as looking odd to me so I revert back to what I was doing before. I definately had some trouble with it, especially for this particular image since I was working off of a very blurry image to begin with. But yeah, I'm a little weak on the shading. I'll work on that some.

The line on my right cheekbone is my birthmark. I had originally removed it because I, too, thought it looked awkward, like it was an error. But someone in this thread mentioned my missing birthmark so I put it back in. Besides, I like my birthmark. Too bad it doesn't work well for vectoring.

And thank you so much for your input. I may work on it some more, if not, I'll definately practice my shading more on my next vector, whenever that may be.
