Well, I was watching the news this morning and this thing came up about a lot of members of churches were protesting about Spongebob Squarepants. They say he "promotes homosexuality on a child's show". WTF? It's a show, people.

Do you think Spongebob has a reason to be taken off the air, because it may SEEM that he's a homosexual? I'm not prejudice against homosexuality or anything, but I doubt that the creator of Spongebob Squarepants intended for Patrick and Spongebob to have a sexual relationship.

Sorry if there is a topic on this, or if it should be in debate.

That's my point. I mean, why in the world would they make a children's TV show character homosexual. I say he's just incredibly happy.

I don't think he's Homosexual. I guess his character just portrays what a prejudice person (or religion) would seem to be a gay man. Which is stupid, but of course the church is going to have supporters on this topic...well because they are Loyal Followers. Others will just find this ignorant. Giving the church more bad publicity than good.

it may concern one show i remember where him and patrick adopted a baby clam and spongebob was the mom and patrick was the dad.......but who cares? it's a kid's television show!!!

The reason people say spongebob is gay is because the way he always hold patrick hand or another guy character hand all the time.

It's a cartoon on Nick. Most of the little kids that watch it probably don't even know what homosexuality is. And the kids that do know what it is probably wouldnt think Spongebob is anyways. I see no problem with Spongebob. He makes me laugh!

hmmm... nahhh. i dont think it should be taken off the air. The creator of the show probably never even thought about homosexuality between Spongebob and Patrick. Could you gimme like a link of it so i can see why the churches r protesting against it?

I don't even like spongebob, but I concur. Even I think it's a stupid show, they shouldn't pull it off the air. Kids love it, and if it's against your beliefs, then turn it off, no one's stopping you. So what if he's gay? As far as I'm concerned, they don't show anything explicit on Spongebob. There are a hell of a lot more shows on television where they express homosexuality freely, why pick on an innocent childrens cartoon?
