Question of the Day



We've all been in this situation: sitting in your car with your friends and then *bam* your favorite song comes on. What do you normally do? Do you sing along or turn up that dial and start singing along (horribly I might add)? Sometimes, while I'm singing I'll notice my friend keeps looking at me funny. Why is that? Because I don't really know the words to the song. For the past 3 minutes I've been mumbling through the whole song and just singing the chorus.

Does anyone really know any of the words to any of Missy Elliot's songs? You can do one of two things in this situation....either replace the words of the songs with your own "special words," or do what I do and just sing incoherently to the tune of the song.

My friend, who will stay anonymous (psst....Fuyumi) for weeks thought the lyrics "come on get it girl" was "come here kitty, kitty." I thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world and I didn't have the heart to tell her.

So the next time you are in the car with your friend and you realize they aren't singing the correct words to the song playing on the radio, just sit and chuckle and realize you've probably done it yourself.

So tell me do you pretend to know all the words to your favorite songs?

NE ways, i like to pretend for a while and when i get tired of it, i find the lyrics and play it till i memorize it. thts how I got the Work It song down XD

but if they are a good song it wont be long till i've memorized a lot of it

I often remember the lyrics to the songs that I like.

yeah when i listen to an artist, i judge them by their lyrics and message first, not the beat...though a hot beat would definetly make the song better

ahaha maybe. sometimes i know all the words cus i look it up; others.. i'll admitt i just mumble along lols

i agree. if its slow of oourse i would just get the lyrics fast. but if its way to fast i would be like "mumble mumble mumble yeah mumble mumble "

I usually know the words to every song... and sometimes I don't... but I still sing along.

Well, after you put your favorite songs on repeat for 4 hours straight, I think you should begin to sing along with the right lyrics.

But then again, sometimes this doesn`t apply to me.

If it's my favorite song, then I'll know it and I won't stumble through it... I memorize basically all of the songs I like.

I'm in a band so I have a knack for remembering the exact timing of every word and note in the song.

sometimes... yes, but im hecka good at memorizing songs though =)

haha, i listen to music so much that i know every word to a lot of songs. i can pick up lyrics quickly after only a few times of hearing a song.

i usually know the words to the songs, but if i don't i listen along or just find the words.

well it all depends.

if its a song thats overplayed a lot, i dont mean to memorize the lyrics but it just comes to my head..

then the lyrics to my favorite songs..of course i know the lyrics word by word

i love that embarassing feeling you get when you don't know the words, cause everyone these days is so hardcore into music, i think it's kinda funny! i had a friend who always acted like he knew all the words to scream-o songs, so now whenever something LLLOOUUUDDD and screamy lol comes on, my girlfriends and i scream random stuff... to see if he can tell the diff LOL and usually, i dont know songs unless they're in my cd player so otherwise, im gonna mess up the lyrics

lol sometimes, if i don't understand what the hell the person is saying. Then i'll sing the words i know, and be like, "sandsfasfneklfn" when i come to that part, lol....but that's rarely the case wit my fav songs, usually wit those songs if i don't get a word or somethan, then i take 2 seconds to look it up online.

interesting topic...lol..i dont sing to songs unless im sure that they r the right words.. but my friends dont listen to the kinda music i listen to so they really dont know...lol..
