this is kind of hard to choose, i don't really see kikyou that much, and kagome is a little annoying in some of the series. but I'm going to choose kagome

i dont really like either of them but i would have to say kagome. kikyos dead. like a zombie. kagome is still annoying though, her voice sickens me.

Kikyou is okay, but i like her better than Kagome, im kind of tired of the Anime School Girl look.

I like both equally just because they have the same soul and I KNOW they're not the same person, but both have been through alot, Kikyou had the responsiblity of being village miko, protecting them, then the jewel, and Kagome had to leave her family, her chance for education because of her sense of suty.

Even though I hate the show Inuyasha, I'd have to say Kikyou because Kagome is another one of those helpless bishoujos who can't stand up for herself. In other words, the damsel in distress that you just want to punch the crap out of.

I think Kikyou is a little CRAZY. I think Kagome and InuYasha area bit better off. Personally I admire their love (Kagome and InuYasha's)

I think Kikyou is alot prettier than Kagome is... but I like Kagome's personality better, even though she sometimes annoys the hell outta me... >< (Excuse my language. )

Hmmm...that's kinda hard...I mean, Kikyo is the tragic heroine, and I really sympathize with her. Kagome has a lot of Kikyo's qualities, just with a modern twist in them. I'll just go with both.

I like Kikyou more than Kagome. Kikyou is the more interesting character and she has a lot more going on with her than Kagome does. I mean, Kikyou, you can't tell if she's helping Inuyasha or Naraku at times and that makes it more interesting, not to mention she's finally free to what she wants and feel how she wants to feel, which is what most people don't understand about her. She's free to feel how she wants thus she can finally choose to hate or love and not have to worry about the impact it will end up having on her.

._.; Kagome is just... Kagome was only there because Kikyou died.. and someone hadda bring back the Shikon no tama so yea.. that's all Kagome is really there. Both. They both have their strong and weak points, but doesn't every character? None of them is "better" they just have separate and distinct personalities and they can't be compared equally.

And FYI it's very silly fighting over two characters.

Kagome, even tho I hated how she was in the first episodes where all she did was say Sit boy sit it got so annoying she was always whinny its like geez put a cork in her.

I agree with you guys, that kikyou is more appealing as well as her true character.

I find her more serious and way more stable than kagome. Yes, kagome does get annoying at times. -_-" But everything Kikyou says sounds so... poetic or something. It's so serious and it's like, since she's dead and her spirit has taken on form again, it makes it 100000x better. Sure, she seems evil, but when you think about it, Kikyou DIED and has gone through a lot...

I guess because Kikyou's more mature and how she carries herself is the highlight of the series, at times. As for Kagome, she does represent the more real-life appeal, since she's from present time and she deals with problems similar to how teenagers would. I mean, love is confusing. She is confused. Having to compare herself to kikyou every time is heartwrenching.

I do like Kagome a lot, but Kikyou wins in this hands down.

I sympathize with Kikyo's plight, but Kagome is so much better, personality-wise. She's like... Kikyo Version 2.0. Kagome may not be very skilled, but she does her best. Really, when you think about it, she is VERY skilled for a 14-15 year old schoolgirl from present-day Japan. I don't know why people are always saying that Kikyo is better than Kagome because Kagome is weak. Kikyo was trained her entire life to be a demon-fighting miko, and Kagome has never really recieved any training, unless you count what little Kaede has taught her. Kagome is what holds the main group together. Not a single one of them would have banded up if it wasn't for Kagome, and Inuyasha would still be alone. And stuck to a tree.
And another thing I've always wondered, does anyone know what actually happens to all of the souls that Kikyo absorbs? Do they still go to the Afterlife when she is done with them or do they just... get eaten?

So to sum it up, do I pick the:
(A) Happy, vivacious (though admittedly somewhat irritating) teenager who frequently risks her own life to protect others, or the
(B) Obsessive, depressive, undead soul-eating zombie woman with gorgeous hair? (What is up with that, anyway? How do you make hair like that out of clay?)

personally i'm only interested with thier love interest in inuyasha so... i think kiki just gets in the way and kagome is some what needy.
