This book isn't part of a series but I would recommend it to you because it's really good.
It's called The Secret of Platform 13. I don't remember the author though.
The manga series MARS is great, isn't it. My sister has all the books in the series and I have one volume of Ai Yori Aoshi in DVD.

Alot of those books are either manga or fictional dealing with supernatural themes. So I would say check out Blue is For Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz. It's a little dry during the first chapter or two, but give it a chance. Things get interesting after the 4th or 5th chapter.
Summary: It started with weird e-mails and freaky phone calls. Now someone's leaving Drea white lilies-the same death lilies that have been showing up in Stacy's dreams. Everybody thinks it's just a twisted game . . . until another girl at school is brutally murdered.
There are no witnesses. Worst of all, no one has a perfect alibi. With everyone as a potential suspect, Stacy turns to the one secret weapon she can trust-the folk magic taught to her by her grandmother. Will Stacy's magic be strong enough to expose the true killer, or will the killer make her darkest nightmares come true?
It's the first book of the series she has going... the second one's call white is for magic, which was my favorite. I'm not really into these types of books, but I loved this one. I'm currently waiting for the third one to come out. The summary's a little corny but it's a really good book.

Azarel= Never said I was perfect... I know I'm not. I just hate having to repeat myself... I only double posted because I don't know how to get more than one quote in the same reply...
TreesTurnMeOn= If it's exactly like Harry Potter I'll probably like it. I'll check it out. Thanks. I tried reading arabat but it just didn't hold my interest.
winsome= what is the wheel of time series about? I loved the LOTR movies but I just couldn't get into the books the last time I tried to read them... maybe it's time to try again.

Series I like a lot:
Daughters of the Moon by Lynne Ewing
The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey
The Claidi Journals by Tanith Lee
Trickster's Choice & Trickster's Queen by Tamora Pierce
Circle of Magic by Tamora Pierce
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Sweep by Cate Tiernan
Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Witches Night Out by Silver Raven Wolf (her "non-fiction" is crap but this wasn't bad)
Everworld by K.A. Applegate
Young Wizards by Diane Duane
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
All of that is sci-fi/fantasy/faerie tales type stuff. That's what I really like to read. I'm not into thrillers or horror.
But I need something new... I'm going to the library Sunday and I've got a couple books to look at and see if it sparks my interest but I'd like some more suggestions. Does anyboy know any good fantasy series?

Wicked is basically a different version of the classic "The Wizard Of Oz" from the Wicked Witch Of The West's point of view. It is good, however, if you don't like having the environment stick out a lot (like LOTR) then you should probably keep away from this.
Artemis Fowl is a fourteen year old boy, criminal mastermind, and one of the smartest kids on the planet. His biggest find lately is the discovery of The People: Faries, Leprachauns, Goblins, etc. in an underground city called Haven. Throughout the series, it shows Artemis constantly confronting and dealing with his problems along side wit the "People", whether it be robbing, saving his father's life, or getting revenge. Must read.
