what does it exactly mean to be on the rebound?
You just got dumped or broke up with your significant other.
you just got out of a relationship and you're now dating a guy/girl you wouldnt normally date/go for.
you just got out of a relationship and you are mainly desperate.

there's a few cases:
1:
it means you just got dumped (or dumped someone, i guess) and you're ready for another relationship. when a girl/guy is on the rebound, that's when they're easiest. a lot of times, when a guy is looking for an easy girl, girls on the rebound would be their first bet.

it means you just got dumped (or dumped someone) and you go out with someone just for the sake of being in a relationship or spiting your ex. this is actually almost the same thing as case number 1.
