Ok, I'm trying to get into a different private school... some of my teachers at my school are suggesting that I dye my hair a normal color (it's pink now), they say It'll give me a better chance of getting in. Should I dye it normal?????

They should accept you in the school for your grades and the positive things you did at your old school.. but definitely not for your hair.
If they don't accept you at the new school, it may not be because of your hair.. but if it is, well, then they're just asses.

anyways, they shouldn't judge you on your hair colour but its up to you. you can either fight for your rights (wow that sounds cliche) or just dye your hair.

well if it really important to you to get into that school, and you know they won't accept you if you have pink hair, then you maybe should. otherwise i don't think i would. they shouldn't base anything off of the hair color.

outrageous hair color might be a student turn off for teachers. so i suggest you do too. then you can die it back pink =P

It kinda bugs me that people say that other people shouldn't judge you by your hair, and they shouldn't, but in this situation, "outrageous" hair colors and things like that may help to present you as unstable to teachers.

Well the private school teachers might not like that.. And being that it's private, they can do stuff to you.. like smack you if they don't like your hair or force you to dye it back anyways.

well, there are the asses of people that would judge you according to what hair color you have, and a lot of those people come from the private school background :)

dont listen to them. if the rinky dink stuck-up rich teachers at the private school have a problem with the COLOR of your hair, and it doesnt "meet their standards", then f**k them. dont let anyone tell u what to do, even if they ARE teachers. I wouldn't, but you should do what you feel is right. Anyway, there are other factors to consider...like what your parents would like. If they are willing to shell out money for your education, you might want to take there intentions into consideration.

You should be accepted into a school based on grades and the good things you do in school. They shouldn't care about how you look. It's all about the grades and participation in school like your extra curriculer activities. Your teacher might be saying that so you could change your hair back to normal.

Well if your teachers think that way, you don't need to listen to them. Who cares? If you like your hair, live with it. Don't listen to them. It's not like your pink hair will affect your school's grade. If they don't like it, then they have to live with it. I mean pink hair won't kill us. You want to appeal to the most amount of people that you can. Sure, some might accept you with pink hair, but the likelyhood of an interviewer disliking you with pink hair is much higher.

Consider the odds.

Additionally, colored hair/ alternative dress/ etc, suggests an alternative lifestyle. Generally speaking, conservatives [and correct me if im wrong, unless you're getting interviewed at like some liberal school] are going to be the people who will be interviewing you.

most schools have dress codes on colors of your hair anyway. i bet the private schools deifntily would. i honestly think it would bring your chances higher. then again if you like it i guess it doesnt matter that much. because they look at your test scores and all and grades mostly (hopefully)
