well .... it definitely seems like a good movie since its on the top of almost every critics' list
I've been following Hotel Rwanda loosely this past month. Don Cheadle seems to give a great performance as said by critics and more easily shown through its nomination for Best Picture at the Golden Globes. It is described as this year's Schindler's List ... a very hard movie to live up to. You can expect me to somehow watch this.

I saw it today and it was just...oh my goodness it was fantastic.
Now I don't cry at movies, but this one...I was crying off and on throughout the entire thing. Not like a few tears but as my friends so eloquently put it "gasp, sniff, snort" crying. It's a really good movie, everyone should go see it but be warned, it's not exactly a feel-good movie.
It better win something at the Oscars.

This is quite a good movie, and will make you think about humanity. I suggest everyone see it.

^ I have to agree with Guy Fawkes this movie is absolutely a must see. This shows how the goverment in other countries is disfunctional. conflicts between the nation itself. and the the different cultures/tribes in here. A very touching movie, and good for history.

Other countries? I assume you are in the United States, in which case, I might point out we are much closer to such a government than you may think.

Hotel Rwanda is about the mass genocide in 1991 (i think) that happened in Rwanda. the genocide was the the Hutus (tribe) killing their Tutsi (another tribe) neighbors. Hotel Rwanda is the story of a hotel owner who deals with corrupt officials and shelters many Tutsi. it was sad, i don't remember if it was very violent. but i suggest Sometimes In April, which tells the story of one particular man and his family. that one is very, very violent. it made me cry.
..and it's not really about showing the government. if half of the population in america decided to kill off the other half, i don't think the government could do much against it.

I have been suggested Sometimes in April before, however, I do not know where to find it. My library do not have it, and I cannot find it online.

I wouldn't call it gruesome...
I think the story portrayed in the movie is an interesting one, but I don't think that this was necessarily a great film. Politically-fueled movies have to really impress me for me to think they're good; there's way too many of them these days. It wasn't awful or anything, just not that good. I'm not good at explaining why...

That was a REALLY good movie. Very sad, but real - I saw a free screening of it when I was in gr. 8 (2 years ago).
I've never heard of it. I can't keep up to date with new movies. I WANT MY TV TO WORK!!!
