hey...is there anywhere i can find out how to do scanlines? i have adobe photoshop 5.0

Er, you're not really being specific/helping. Obviously there are tutorials out there..

Well here's a tutorial. Don't know if it works with Adobe Photoshop 5.0 though..

Look in the big book of resources...there are some tuturials there....you'll find something ^_^

easiest way. i swear

make image of 2px height 1px width. one pixel black one pixel white.
select all.
go to edit -> define pattern

make new layer on image you want to make scanlines.
select area you want to scanline
go to fill choose 'pattern' and then choose the pattern you just created.
edit layer properties (fill, opacity, mode (aka multiply,colorburn,etc) until its the way you like it.

i suggest multiply and less opacity. maybe 70% maybe 30% depending on the look you want.

voila.
