You'd have to make sure that IPod supports the fileformat that you're trying to put on it, otherwise it won't work. I believe that IPod's don't work with WMA and WAV but don't quote me on that. I know for sure it doesn't work with WMA since that's Window's format but not sure about WAV.

iTunes auto-converts your wmas into .mp3 during transfer to the ipod.

I dislike all p2p programs exept a few. They put spyware and viruses on your computer. Viruses are bad... really bad... LOL... some can give you e-mails talking about nasty stuff.

The only p2p services I would ever use are shareaza and eXeem. eXeem however will not be released sinced suprnova recently went done. But if the team is still working on it it should be one of the better p2p programs.

You have to know how to configure your client to make it run well with your computer, if you have closed ports it will also affect you downloads heavily. Download speeds/rate could hinge on one small factor from computer to computer.

Almost every p2p program can get you a virus. It not 100% safe.
But usually when u DL music 95% of the time, u can't get a virus so it safe dling from kazaa lite. I used WINMX theses days.

I have been searching and searching for a prog. to use to download music... I want something that works with dsl, doesnt take up a lot of space on your computer, and doesnt take much memory to run... can you guys suggest a prog for me?

Suggested DLing program: Bittorrent. Doesn't make you dl a desktop program. DSL is a preferrable connection. And you just get raw .mp3's and data.

Bittorrent is slow? Where are you downloading from? If you can find a decent site your downloads shouldnt go at any less than 100 KB/s if you configured your client correctly. I remember in my BT days I was getting 150 to 200 KB/s on the sites I was on. Now im a great FXP forum and download at well over 300 KB/s

I download from lokitorrent, normally. But does the site really matter? Since BT is a swarm download and all.
The thing with my client is that good downloads are normally 30kbs, but I've had maybe 2-3 incidents where speed was about 150+kbs. How exactly do you configure the client right?

You should really watch what you download, spyware may not be too malicious, but one thing can lead to another. According to what you all mentioned, I put together a list, and yes, I looked all these programs up.
Spyware/Adware:
Kazaa, anything with the word Kazaa in it for that matter.
Bearshare
Kiwi Lite
Ares
eDonkey
Okay:
Shareaza
Limewire
WinMX
Soulseek
eDonkey <Pretty sure...
