I think that same sex marriages should be allowed.. or what ever, Civil Unions.. Whatever their called.. I do because i think everyone should get the same benefits and things as 'normal' couples.

Make Sense?

i'm against it...but if you do it, then i'm not going to all hate you & discriminate because of your homosexuality

I don't exactly support it...screw it..I Just Don't. I feel that marriages should be sacred...but if there's gonna be like a homosexual marriage..I'm not gonna discriminate against it..people..everyone has a right to love who they want to love..no one has a right to stop them.

It's not that i'm against gays or homosexuals or whatever, but the concept of being married is being bound into a "Holy Matrimony". Seeing as tho homosexuality is scriptured as a sin, it seems wrong to help someone do it. If it were up to me, i'd have a diff. type of marriage, if it gathered as much media attention as it has. If it's love two people are looking for, or already have, they don't need a bunch of papers and documents to support them.
Anyway, i'm not against it, but I don't support it, and if I had to choose sides, it'd be a no...
Not a gay-basher!

... I don't know. I'm sort of iffy about the issue. I don't know enough about politics and the world to judge whether it should be legalized or not. But I think it's somewhat unfair for a ban to be put on homosexual marriages.

Dec 22 2004, 03:21 AM
personally, i think it's kinda sick. but it's their lives and they can do whatever they want with it. so leave them be. sometimes, i dont think they chose to be homosexual. just leave them alone, we're not the ones who should be telling them what they should be doing with their lives.

There is nothing wrong with gay marriage. You can love whomever you want to love, just don't prowl into other people's buisness. If you don't, than you won't know if they are married or whatever.

I dont see anything wrong with same sex marriages. Everyone has a right to live a normal and happy life, even if it means that you are attracted to the same gender. People are born gay/lesbian, so they dont have a choice if they are gay/les.

Though I am Christian, I believe that there should be same sex marriages. We are put in this world to make our own decisions. We are to live for what is the ascendancy that we believe in. May it be our culture, religion, government, etc. I thought that personal beliefs were to have no effect on the way this country is to be ruled, but apparently not. Though I understand that it might be 'wrong' for a woman to love a woman, a man a man... I think that if they really believe that they can love each other, they can. Love is not defined as a man and a woman, it is defined as something deeper within the heart.. and all humans, whether man to man or man to woman, have hearts that are capable of loving.
I rest my case.

Well.. I dont only mean it as marriages.. I mean unions. It's the same thing. Some people said 'NO' because
MARRIAGE is between man and woman. Then unions.. can be between anyone. But, in the way I think about it, I dont think you choose who you love. You just do..
AND- Did ya know your soul mate is really the same sex as you? ^-^

I think Same sex marriage should be legal, because homosexuals are people too, why can't they have marriage benefits. If one of them were to go to the hospital and was dying, if they are not married they wouldnt be able to get the same benefits as a married couple. They should get the same rights.

I'm all for it. I think it's great, personally. Also, it's ethical. If this was truely a country of
EQUAL RIGHTS then same sex marriges would be allowed, no question. BEcuase everyone has the right to Marry. Plus, I believe that its all about love, which no one (straight or gay) seems to marry for anymore.

I don't exactly support gay marriage or am not exactly against it. I mean, people don't choose to be homosexual. If they did, then wouldn't we be able to choose who we liked or not? So I don't really think it's fair to have gay marriage banned, especially to those who are gay.

alrite. lets see. i'm completely for it. how will two people getting married affect you? seriously?!? think about it. they're in love, they should be able to be married. don't give me all this crap about marriage being only between a man and a woman, who defined that? someone who made it up while writing it. in greece most people were homosexual because guys felt that women were inferior and therefore preferred to sleep with other men. it's all about the society you're in. there is nothing wrong with homosexuality and people who are against it piss me off because they're so ignorant. it's an opinion. that's all.
..that might have been kind of mean but i've been having a crap ass day..^
that being said, i still stand by my beliefs.

I have nothing against it at all. If you are in love, and you just happen to be in love with someone of the same sex than so be it. I will not look down upon you or judge you in any way. My best friend is a lesbian and I support her 100% she is so happy. this is the happiest I have yet to see her. There is nothing wrong with it at all. There should not be a law in place stating who you can and can not marry. If you are happy thats all that matters

I support it and I think it's unfair that gay marriages are not legal. It shouldn't matter wether you're gay or not. If you're in love with someone of your same gender, it shouldn't change things. Everyone should have the same rights.

Marriage is sacred. So, I don't think the government should just cut in like that, killing a homosexual couple's bond, just because they don't like people who are different. Grr...EQUAL RIGHTS YES!

i say nay. marraige was defined (in the beginning of America, which i love) as the union between a male and a female. therefore, it's really not possible. . they can say it's marraige. . but it's not. i, personally, think that people have a choice to either be homosexual or not. 'i'm born w/it'. . crap. you are born with a desire to rebel. you are born w/a desire to quench your thirstings. but you are not born w/homosexual tendancies. although there are the rare cases in which there are chemical imbalances and they are born w/half-and-half (genitalia wise), nobody's really born w/those 'urges.' i think that having same sex marraige legalized is just another way for the human race to rebel against the government. . like rosie o'donnel. she said that the only reason she was getting married was to show bush off. . is it right, no. is it how this world is, yes. i think that homosexuality is not right, and that marraige should remain a sacred thing. and i mean. . if marraige can be redefined. . whose to say that you can't go marry your dog. . or your orange in the fridge?
ps. you asked for my oppinion. . so don't yell at me for it.

I'm for it. Unlike most of you.
These are normal people.
Give them a chance to love too, you asses.
The person that you love right now, think about what it would be like if 2 genders were not allowed to get married.
How would you feel now, huh? You would love this person. And you're not allowed to.

I used to be for it but now i think that it shouldn't be legalized.
But also, this means all this is involving religion with government. marraige is a holy matromony between a man and a woman. so whatever, it shouldn't be up to the government to decided whether any marraiges should or should not take place.

its in the 14th amendment, equal protection clause. if they ban gay marriage and only allow *CERTAIN* ppl to marry, then thats not really equal, now is it?
and ppl r against it primarily cuz of religion, but religion SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY FACTOR IN THE GOVERNMENT. NOT EVEYONE IS RELIGIOUS, WHY SHOULD OUR LIVES BE AFFECTED BY SOMETHING WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN?????
