There's no such continent known as Pacific Islands. It's a region. The Pacific Islands is a region in ASIA. You work out the Venetian mapping.

I guess it's kind of like debating on whether or not Hawaiians are American or not...The Philippines is in the general area. It's not like the Oriental people are definetly classified as the "Asians". Basically it's a stereotype that just got widened a bit too much. Heck, even some Middle Eastern friends I know say that they would consider themselves Asian, but that it would just be weird.

For some reason, people like to separate others into small little groups. I say people are people. If you're Filipino and you want to be pacific islander, you can call yourself that. If you want to say you're an Asian, then that's okay too.

It just depends on your point of view.
