i play clarinet, and yesterday my school hosted the auditions for district honor band, so you were graded and basically competing for a sport in the band, and then to make all state.

i hope you do as well as my friends, who all did extremely well!

When I played with my old piano teacher I competed in 2 competetions a year. The first one was in the winter, I'd memorize 2 pieces and take a theory test. It was a piece of cake. The second one was in the spring. I had to memorize 7 to 10 pieces (usually 10 because of my teacher). I always went infront of judges instead of against other students. It was fun.

Maybe next year I'll get a sponsor and compete again, but probably not.

Hmm, never in my life have I been invovled with competition with my instrument. Maybe because I suck.

i play violin and i have competition in Febuary...or the beginning of March...can't remember..lol. Anyway, you just pick if you want to do a solo, duet or whatever or all of them and then pick the piece(s)..i'm just doing a Class B solo...oh yeah, you have to pick the class A, B, and C! Hope it went well!

Well, i had marching band competitions, but the seasons over...
We got screwed over at every one of them though...

Hope Ya Do well! I don't play the violin, i play the piano, and i have recitals. I played when i was 7. Anywho, good luck, and PLAY GOOD! i love people who play violins, it's just so interesting watching them swinging the stick back and forth while the string makes beautiful sounds. lmao

Man, I just did Region Band auditions recently, and it was nerve-wrecking. So many schools were there and everyone was so good and so it was pretty intimidating. We have Solo & Ensemble contest coming up, but that won't be as nerve-wrecking -or at least I hope not. Yep. Oh, and I play the flute.

Sometimes I have flute tests that I have to play in front of my class.. sometimes in front of the whole band, too. ;x

dance competition coming in 3 weeks!!!! AHHH!!! gotta practice! i'll post up vids once i get them...i will be doing a trio with my brother and a friend and also competing in the hip hop division with my all male team, our school's drill team will also compete in their category, they've been placing a lot of 1sts last year o.O

i'm sure you'll do well... i've never that a solo comp.. only band.. marching and concert... so i kindda have a sense of who nerve racking it can be

do video game compititons count :) no i use to like to play piano and take jaztap when i was a kid but i stopped that at an early age :(
