I'm getting money for Christmas to customize a Dell, and my budget is under $600. mad.gif I was wondering if you thought this was good...

$569 for: Dell Dimension 3000

Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ W/ HT Tech 800MHZ FSB
512 MB RAM
80 GIG HD
Integrated Video/Audio
No software, I will have that.
No Moniter (I'm waiting for an upgrade.)
XP Home
DVD-ROM and CD-RW Drives

I thought it was good, I just wish the Motherboard came with an Integrated 8x AGP. I might need to pick up a PCI Graphics card in the future like a ATI Radeon 9200 or something.

Yeah, I guess it's good enough. However, you're going to want a real graphics and sound card (not just the garbage integrated). See if you can upgrade the RAM too, although 512 is ok for photoshop.

Yeah, it's just the moherboard only has 3 PCI slots so it won't be as easy. If I need to get one later I'll pick up a PCI video card or something.

PCI slots? You mean there's no AGP slot?
ryanoman
LOL yeah, I mean it comes with no AGP slot. Not one.

After doing some more research I realized that Dell just wasn't for me. I'm looking for something with a little more room for upgrade. These have AMD processors and the reviews say they run just as fast if not faster than Pentium 4s.
