Well, I am 19 years old. I have been having my period since I was 13. There is not a certain amount of time between my periods... I have gone 3 months w/o having one before. And sometimes I have them after 28 days. I thought it was normal for them to be irregular for like the first year, but what about 6 years? Blah! Is that normal?

my friend has the same thing going on, and according to her doc it's either hereditary or just a come-and-go thing, but if it's been going on for a long time, see a doctor, and they have medication to regulate your menstruation. yeah also if you get like major mood swings or whatever it's probably because of the irregularity.

first years are always irregular, wait it out for like 2-3 years

Also, if you drink cold water during your period, it tends to cause irregular times for your period to act up...

you'd think that when i finally have my period it would be extra long to make up for the ones i missed... but i always have 1-week periods.

i wonder if it's harder to get pregnant if you don't have very many periods. What do yall think?

Irregular periods just depends on the person. It has a lot to do with stress also. One of my friends have her period for 10 days twice a month. She had to take birth control periods to help with the flow. She's fine now.
I don't think it matters if your period is irregular or not if it will determine the possibility of getting pregnant. I think it will just be harder to determine if you are pregnant or not.
