contact lens takes more time but it's invisble
glasses are simple just put it on but some people don't like them.

I'd prefer contacts. I use glasses for far distance seeing, but I only use them rarely. I wish I had contacts so that I wouldn't have to squint to read something 7 feet away without altering my appearance.

contacts slow the degrading of your eyes, because with contacts you don't strain to see the distance between the lens and your eye. anyone who wears both will tell you, things look bigger thought contacts because that distance is gone.
however, contacts can be annoying if they mess up. and your eyes gradually become allergic to them, so if you wear contacts now, sooner or later you have to go back to glasses. unless contact technology changes.

honestly, neither is the solution to poor eyesight. contacts and glasses treat the syptom, not the problem. the problem is the change of shape of the lens in your eye, so light is bent the wrong way and objects are out of focus. Glasses/Contacts compensate for this bending. However, the true solution would be laser surgery (expensive) or special contacts that bend your lenses back into shape (very expensive, yes they do have these, they're kinda like braces, but instead of bending teeth it bends your lenses).

laser surgery isn't refined...
in fact, your vision doesn't become perfect... you may still need to wear glasses
in addition, the laser surgery doesn't even get good results most the time

That's true. You don't get 20/20 vision afterwards. It's not perfect.

Dec 5 2004, 01:52 AM
yea lasic eye surgery isnt perfect.
there are so many things that arent perfect that they always seem to be the perfect solution for everything like:
teeth whitening... it only lasts for 6 months and they turn back to the yellow stuff called your original teeth.
botox... that only lasts for 6 weeks.. and its also dangerous cause they can put the needle too much into your head. then your wrinkles come bacl.
society and media only make it seem pefect but its no solution ... its only the solution to your problem for only 6 months lol.

i prefer contact lens because they're invisible and like glasses, you can feel something on your eye... it's really annoying to wear glasses and if a basketball gets to your face, your glasses can be broken! and if the glass of the glasses broke, then it can damage your eye even more lol.. so yeah i prefer contact lens^^;; i never want to wear glasses because i always think they give me bad luck when i go to P.E. class T_T

I would rather not have either. Glasses are known to potentially make your eyesite worsen.
I don't need them, though.
I would get lazer surgery, and correct it, though.

i prefer glasses.
Glasses are simply easy to put on.
Nobody should complain if they dont want to put glasses on, yet, they
do not have contacts.
contacts disturbs my eyes.
it hurts and takes time to put it in, and it can fall out easily
and sometimes cause even more problems to your eyes.
Glasses, period.

i used to think i would never wear contacts because i was scared of sticking something in my eye.. but i tried them and i dont ever want to wear glasses again, it is so annoying having something on your face all the time and with contacts you can see EVERYWHERE so clearly, and move your eyes to see something, not your whole head.. yea still cant get over the awesomeness

I use both actually , When I get home from school I wear my glasses to rest my eyes. I've been using contacts for 3 years now and they are effin sweet. I recommend acuvue. I don't think they are time consuming either , I can put them in and take them out in one second. haha

I wish I had the time for contacts in the morning, but I slap the snooze button 4 times so that's 40 minutes past when I'm supposed to wake up... meaning usually(try 9/10 times) I barely get breakfast and hygience done... much less anything else.
