I don't think so, because my friend has all these songs he downloaded from kazaa transferred to his iPod.

How is it possible that they detect it. Kazaa doesn't put a special tag in the Mp3 file saying it downloaded off kazaa.

that's true... you only transfer the file in kazaa and nothing else. and I'm pretty sure kazaa doesnt leave anything on the mp3's... oh yeah, all my kazaa mp3's work for my iPod perfectly.. =)

Well, you have to put the songs in your iTunes. I use Frostwire, and I've never had a problem with that.

with ipod you have to either rip songs from a CD or buy the tracks.
If you want ipod quality get a Microsoft Zune or a Toshiba mp3 player. You don't have to pay for songs and you can put any song in them without any problems.

I have an iPod and I love it but I have to admit, there are products out there with amazing features and a fraction of the price.
I really like the mp3 player I got my best friend. It's the Sandisk Sansa and in addition to the original amount of storage you buy, you can add more memory. It's lightweight. Although, I got some mixed reviews about it's durability. The good thing about it is that it's not connected to any programs. It's like a flash disk and you just drag and drop the songs you want (the process is a little tricky). It's all through your Document folders. If you're really worried about the mp3 player's ability to track illegal songs, then you might want to go with something like this.

Why don't you guys just close threads that are older than 12 months?

Mods don't go around looking for really old topics to close. They're usually just left alone unless someone posts and bumps them.
