One of my favorite horror films in that category is called Gacy. It's about a man who used to dress up as a clown or something...He was bisexual and randomly killed people.

He'd torture the boys too, and the police had found that he sodomized one guy with a baseball bat sick.gif

But Texas Chainsaw Masscre (new one) and Amityville Horror were good too.

I also throb.gif LOVED throb.gif From Hell, which starred Johnny Depp. It's about Jack the Ripper, which is one of the sadistic killers I like to watch films about.

Oh, and I guess some people like the Blair Witch Project too, eh? ermm.gif

So, what's your favorite scary movie that has been based on actual events?

.. about the man thing, why did you just state that he was bisexual if that information was unimportant? blink.gif

Sorry I forgot to add that he RAPED and killed random people. Of both sexes.

13 ghosts...still gives me the shivers.
teenprincess
would the excorcist be one of them?
diezelbabygrl_xoxo
13 Ghosts isn't based on a true story.

But anyway, The Exorcist is a true story, but instead of a little girl, it actually happened to little boy. blink.gif

i've seen alot of B movies based on actual serial killers (gacy, night stalker, dahmer, etc.)

i'm gunna have to to with the original TCM, Silence of the Lambs, Deranged, and henry. OH! and psycho. Gein was some damn good inspiration for horror movies.

gacy did voulenteer work as a clown named "pogo" by day, and by night he would abduct teenage boys by luring them into his car with narcotics. then he'd have his way with them and whatever object he could find, and eventually kill them. i'm pretty sure he ate some of them, too. not 100%, though

nightmare on elmstreet was also veeeeeeeeeeeery loosly based on a true story. back in, like, 1980 three people had the same dream and the next night they all died in their sleep.

Oops I didnt read the whole question, but oh well that movie still gives me the creeps.

huh.gif So, I really cant aswer the question because I dont know what horror movies out of the ones that I've seen are based on true events. I cant say any of the ones that have already been listed becaue I haven't seen any of them either. I've seen Psycho but I didn't think it was that scarry or based on a true story.

Um,have you ever seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, Gacy, From Hell?? Hmm..I can't think of anymore.

nope sad.gif

all movies nowadays are based on actual events .... even when the similarities are negligible ....

for instance, that new Open Water movie was really not based on an actual event ... rather the collection of stories from random shark attack victims.

but other than that .... I can't really think of any great movies based on an ACTUAL event ....

oh and by the way, The Blair Witch Project isn't based on an actual event .... it was just a hoax advertising mechanism implimented to create anticipation amongst the youth. it .... in fact .... was not real footage ....
