You know how Hassan was captured and then murdered? As all other captured Westerners, the country which the captive was from was given the choice of leaving Iraq, or this civilian will be killed (kind of like Nick Berg).
Well, my question for you all to ponder is, if Laura Bush or any of Bush's daughters were captured and put in the exact same situation, do you think he'd end the occupation in Iraq to save their lives?
I think he'd pull out faster than anything and come up with some other bullshit reason besides the fact that he was saving his family. I dont think he has any sympathy for other people and their families and their lives.

yeah he would pull out faster osama could say alalala. if it was my daughter i would too. but see hes smart. he said, no honey you cant go to iraq for vacation. she was mad though, i'll tell you that.
you dont have to understand

Anyway, I agree with Michelle. If his wife or one of his daughters were captures, he'd pull out real fast. But if it were a normal citizen, he's just be like 'Meh'.

yeah.
there IS a reason he didn't go for the draft.
HE wouldn't do anything that could hurt HIM.
we'll send a bazillion soldiers over to iraq..but if someone HE knows and loves has anything to do with iraq..it's a no-no.

this topic sounds like the premise to a hollywood blockbuster starring Harrison Ford.
If he WERE to pull out of Iraq for the sake of his daughters .... then there would be no war in Iraq ... isn't that what you Anti-Bush'ies want?
Of course .... you try to spin it the other way around .... to sort of take a stab at Bush .... but, in reality, I think every parent would do anything to save their child .... and if you're saying that you wouldn't then you're f**ked up

we're saying he would act less concerned with a regular old citizen. i'm sure we would all try to save our family as well.

as bad as this sounds, everyone would be more concerned if it were a family member in jeopardy rather than some old stranger .... call it selfish .... its human nature.

Hmm. Another Bush-hating topic.
Of course Bush would pull out of Iraq if it were his daughters in danger.
Why is it so important that this topic be in the Lounge?

Who wouldn't save their family?
I understand once you get the job of the President, you'll have to save anyone's life.. [or however you want to put it]
But would YOU take a bullet for some average citizen?
I bet you'd be more likely to take a bullet for your family than just some average citizen.
No matter what your title is.

BUT SERIOUSLY, THOUGH.
Who would you rather save.. your family, or some other citizen?
It's not a case of selfishness. It's more of a case of reality.
I'm not being a bitch, but how many of you would SERIOUSLY rather save someone other than your family.. over your family?

i suppose, but then again, shouldn't a person that is our president put themselves in the families scenario themselves?

this topic is a double-edged sword ....
if Bush were to pull out for the sake of a daughter, then you would all say that he is "selfish" for doing so.
if Bush were NOT to pull out for the sake of a daughter, then you would all STILL call him selfish because he's thinking of the situation in Iraq (something that many of you still call his father's war - "whatever that means")
