when i try to duplicate a layer, i can't..and the image that i open doesn't say "background" in the layers window, it just says "index" with a lock icon next to it..does anyone know what i am doing wrong? sorry if this doesnt make sense..

i dont remember but i think you have to click on the lock to take it off or double click it...just make sure the lock isnt there, then you can duplicate your layer
