its great that you strive for greatness ..... but I think you're going into this with the wrong intentions and notions.
most successful (and respected, I should say) actors/actresses don't go in for the fame .... you're comment "I hope to be big and well-known" is literally a slap in the face to struggling actors and actresses today. The fame is just an added bonus for being good at what you do .... and it should certainly not be your ultimate "goal".
I hope to become a filmmaker and somehow live off of that ... when I grow up. I certainly do not strive for celebrity status ... because that would just be silly. There's a big difference between being "big" and being satisfied with what you do.
Making films (whether through acting or directing) is a self-expressive art ... and shouldn't be dumbed down to just "entertainer".

I'm an aspiring actor.
I used to do it professionally as a child.
I've done acting in school for 7 years after my parents decided school was best for me, and acting was too much of a distraction and risk.

Aw, thanks, I appreciate your sympathy.
You can sing? You should do a musical! Haha. I'd never be able to - I have the most horrible voice.

Hip hip! I'm gonna be a disney channel actress...hopefully.

But while I'm dreaming, then I'm gonna join Dakota Fanning in the more serious movies.
What Robbo said. I'm actually going back for a callback for an agency. If I get in they can start finding me work.

Awww! I didn't know that, Joe.
Haha then again, you're probably not going to read this.
But mm I've always wanted to model, but my mom never wanted me to. Hopefully when/if I move to either LA or New York, I can seize my opportunity there.
I love acting as well.

I have always been into acting and such so here are a few pointers to those who need them:
It really matters what field you are getting into. Film, theater, and what not. But here are some basics and work your way from there.
(1) Take acting classes
(2) Be sure to have a resume and headshot. Headshot should be black and white, usually casting agents link how good your headshot is to how serious you are about the business. Make sure to get a good quality one with a great photographer, you will probably pay big bucks. If you are just starting off and are young then you probably could take your own, and then progress to a nicer headshot. And resume, just list everything you have done [plays, commercials, movies], and be sure to list your special skills as well.
(3) Audition! It's an art in itself. Some people audition horribly, but are perfect for the part. Even if you don't think there is any chance of you getting that part or being in the production, just audition. You need to just randomly show up at some and get your name out there and learn the entire process. It is nerve-wracking, it is tough. You need to get accustomed to it. Look presentable, Try to stand out and be yourself. If you get a callback and it's a big audition [cattlecall], then be sure to wear the same clothes so they can recognize you easier. Also, arrive early as well. You'll need time to fill out papers and ontime can be considered "late" at an audition. You want to get in. Casting people love when you are early. Put your best foot foward, when in doubt smile, and just keep auditioning. You'll find auditions online, in your local paper, by word of mouth is the best, you will want to find a theater or acting group around the area that knows about that stuff.
(4) Getting an agent is nice, they can get you in more private auditions, and the searching part is done for you, you just have to show up. There are a lot of shady agents out there so really be careful, and search about them online before you jump into things.
(5) Voice Lessons. They really help, especially for theater people. The same could be said with dance lessons and all of that. It never hurts to be well rounded. If you can, try to get into a good acting school, or into a school with a good acting/theater program. Whatever best fits you.
The acting classes and voice lessons really helped me a lot. It made you more aware of yourself, and it just helps....
and please just keep auditioning. That is so important. I mean, you get shot down a lot, you will get a hella more "No's" then "Yes's", that is expected. If you have in your head that you will get every single audition and callback then you are in for a nasty suprise. It is a very tough business, soooo much competition, you have to be prepared mentally.
Persevere and just keep going for your goal!
Good luck!

Oohh, I want to be an actor as my job even though I know it's hard and all. But, if I don't end up being an actor, I'll like to be like a director. KissMe2408, that is some good advice, and it doesn't sound easy. xD

My dream job is to be one of the players on Saturday Night Live.
I've been taking more advanced drama classes in school which exposes me to various aspects of theater including writing, comedy, improv, and tech.
My advice to you if you want to get serious?
1.
Outside lessons They don't need to be expensive. Just shop around and find a teacher that really clicks with you. Find someone who knows what they're doing and who you think can really help you tap your potential. Taking classes in school or getting informal help from a drama teacher or choir director
2.
Agent These can be a bit more pricey. They get a cut of whatever gigs they help you get, so try to find someone credible and with a reasonable price. A good agent can help you find the best auditions.
3.
Auditions Don't just rely on your agent. Go get them yourself! They're very daunting at first, but once you've been to a few, you get the hang of it. The trick to these is when introducing yourself, be really genuine. Even though you're an actor, they like to see a little bit of your true personality. Then, once you have your lines, dive right in. Sometimes it helps to dress the part for your audition (i.e. for the part of a poor person, dress a little more drab than usual and don't look as polished). But, don't overdo it! I've made the mistake of dressing too over the top for an audition. Don't do that. Try to dress in more neutral colors with maybe one bright or eye catching accessory. You want them to focus more on your face and acting ability than on your wardrobe.
4.
Positive Attitude Trying to get into the entertainment business is hard. It's highly unlikely that you'll get called back to every single audition. That's why it's very important to maintain a positive attitude even in the face of rejection.
Break a leg.

^ You don't have to be a gorgeous super model to be an actor/actress. As long as you have the skills, it can take you somewhere.

It's one of my goals, too. Not to be rich and famous...though, granted, that would be a bonus. But to act for a living, I can only imagine how wicked that would be. I've never tried anything, though. No modeling, because I'm not that pretty. And no child acting stuff because I was really shy when I was little. So, hopefully in High School there'll be some plays for me to try out for and things like that. What I'd really like to do is be in a musical, because I love theatre, but I can't even sing in front of my parents, let alone a whole crowd.

^ You too?
Well, I love begging so my grandma finally caved. I've spent about 3,000 bucks jumpstarting my acting career. (Classes, headshots, more classes.) My mom is worried about having the money go to waste, but my grandmother said to give it a shot before I become a 40 year old loser who will never forgive my mother for something I could've become.
I love my grandmother.
