hey, my friend at school got gmail and i just was wondering what is is about. i forgot to ask her about it. i searched online, but i wasn't sure how to get one. can anyone help me out? thanks!

Gmail basically stands for googlemail. It's a little thing Google is testing to see how it would turn out. You can only get it when people "invite" you.
They get 6 invites, and therefore are eligible to invite any of their 6 friends.
You have 1000mb (=gigabyte) storage so you never have to delete an email. You can also search for emails with key factors and such.

to me, gmail is another email type of thing. not really any different from yahoo or msn or hotmail and such.. just has a bigger inbox i think???
