Anybody see the trailer for The Grudge? Doesn't it look awfully similar to The Ring? SEriously!

I wanna see that movie so damn bad.

The reason why you might think so is that the original (Ju-On:The Grudge) was made by the same people who brought you Ringu (The Ring)

There are a lot of similarities (I've seen all the Ju-Ons)
TV warps, photographs, etc etc.

okay yeah both movies freak me out. the trailer for the grudge...the kid is so cute! then he meows...and then he's not so cute anymore...

Trust me, it's going to be more than the 'Meowing' that'll freak you out about him.

His name is 'Toshio', BTW...I'm guessing they're going to keep his name the same for the remake.

YAh since the grudge is suppose to be an america version of another japanese movie, it looks similiar to the Ring. Japanese movies have a tendency to explicitly show "ghosts" so yah it's similiar but it's a little different. I think the grudge would be good cuz it looks 10x scarier than the japanese version. Sarah Michelle is such a good screamer..haha

Anyway, if you think this one's scary, you should check out Ju-On: The Grudge 2.
I wonder if they'll make a remake of that sequel in the future.

Speaking of sequels, they're making an american remake of The Ring 2.

I can't wait to see the movie... but i'm also scared.. i think i'm gonna watch it.. in the afternoon hahhaha..

the grudge's trailor is creepy... so was the ring trailer...but the ring sucked ass and id i not get scared one bit, but i get a vibe off of the grudge...like i know its gonna be or IS scary...

There're a lot of scenes that'll make you cringe or jump from fear.

I think the second one is freakier...
A lot of cool psychologically disturbing stuff, especially this one particular scene.

naw. it's not a sequel to the ring. the ring has a sequel called ring 2...
and it's coming out later on.

the grudge is the american version of the japanese horror movie series "juon"... and the grudge seems much scarier than the ring. i didn't think the ring was scary at all

I saw Ju-On... but I don't understand Japanese. T_T I have Ju-On 2 as well, but haven't watched that yet...

yea the Grudge is an American version of the Japanese movie of Ju-on^^;; i dont think the American version will be that scary but i kinda want to watch it cause i never watch any scary movies in American theater so im planning to watch it. anyways i watch the japanese version one and it was hecka scary... even tho i kinda did not understand it... heh that's why im going to watch the american version was... the japanese version one was very confusing... i hope they're showing ju-on 2...cause that one was hecka scarier... and ju-on 1 wasnt that scary at ALL

Well, as an example, one of the Ringu movies tells the story of Sadako (Samara in the US ver.) before she was killed and all that good stuff.

in ring 2, the little kid gets the same powers as sadako.... i think she tries to kill em and they are trying to run from her or something, i dunno. i only heard reviews

oh ive watched the orginal japanese ringu movies.. the first one (when she was still actually alive and all) wasnt really freaky but the one after she was put in the well was kinda freaky..

but didnt that kid, whats his name? iforgot. yah the kid, he said in the end like "she never sleeps".. she's never going to die! but i admit, ill watch it tho . i remember the first time i watched the ring, i was so freaked that i put a random picture of tobey maguire on my tv and another picture of orlando bloom on the oval mirror in my bathroom. haha!
