or you could use the polygon lasso tool and make your shape then again use that tool to cut the rims and apply the plastic effect oh and lower the opacity

uum..i have ps 7 so0o yeah...and i dun get it ermm.gif someone plz help me!

well then you can do what swe3tprincesz said to do, that works on photoshop as well. which part do you not get?
sailornaruru
wat do you guys mean "Cut The Rims"?

okay make a rectangle shape, then take your polygonal lasso tool and you know how the tape is jaggedy on the edges where you rip it? try to make that effect on the ends. use the lasso to do it, then press delete, and you should be left with something that looks like tape. then you can add effects and all if you want.

I think she means, like, a screenshot.
Or she could mean actual snapshots, but that's impratical.

1. make a new document, like 250x100 with a transparent background. then take your rectangle tool, under the T [text tool]. pick a beige color, like E1D9B9. lower the opacity of the rectangle to 45%. you can do this by going to the bar at the top of the screen, under all the file, edit, etc.

2. now since it's so small and transparent, zoom in once or twice so you can see what you're doing. (press ctrl + to zoom in) find your polygonal lasso tool. that's under the dotted square, which is the first tool. you might have to hold that button down to find the tool since the tools are grouped together.

3. now with your lasso tool, start at one corner of the rectangle. make the jaggedy edges along the shorter edges of the rectangle. it doesn't need to be perfect. messy is actually more appropriate for tape happy.gif

4. now ctrl-c, and open up a new document, transparent. paste. you're done! now you can copy and paste this anywhere you want! oh yeah, you can also add special effects. go to filter>>artistic>>plastic wrap. choose highlight strength:5, detail:8, smoothness 8.
