if i play the songs that i'm familiar with...my class with think i'm some punk rock loser because the class is full of cheerleaders and jocks and preppy bimbos that only like rap and hiphop and pop.

Well...if you really are a "punk rock" loser, then you shouldn't care what people think about you and play what ever music you want. That was the message of Punk in the first place, wasn't it? wink.gif

You could play I fought the law from The Clash...
The Clash is a highly honored Punk Band that really changed punk for alot of people. Plus it's cool enough and catchy enough, that even preps will dig it, they probly won't even know it's a punk song. Thus you can sail underground without any critism, and still be cool.
You can never go wrong with The Clash.

Differences - Ginuwine?

Retrogressive
weezer - Sweater song is AWESOME

oo i kinda had to do the same thign sophomore yr. i had to bring in a song i liked to present to my global clbutt. my clbutt was like 90% ghetto ppl who liked rap and hip hop and all that poopty music. at that time i was obsessed with jimmy eat world, so i brought in "bleed american" by jimmy eat world. it turned out the ghetto ppl even enjoyed it a bit. "sweetness" is also a good song.

This isn't the best song in the world, but the song Beautiful by Christina Aguilera has a lot of meaning in it and it's easy to write about happy.gif

pick a song you really like or can really relate to. but here are some of my personal suggestions:

breaking the habit - linkin park
everybody's fool - evanescence
shadow - ashlee simpson
over and over - nelly ft. tim mcgraw
american idiot - green day
venturesome69
do a famous piece like symphany 9 or the planets suit. Anything can work right.

Yeah everyone at my school is like that too....lol.

like everyone else said, you shouldn't care about their opinions. If music is what makes you different then just be yourself. If someone says something rude (for example) 'Yellowcard sucks' then I'd say 'not as much as you do'. (someone said that to me and after i said they suck they shut up. lol) after that they usually just shut up. happy.gif

Just stick to the music you like wink.gif
