Prediction - Misa Miyagawa
Dreaming
I see a garden
growing in a black hole
I see
no light
but lilies
sweet
hibiscus
from the ground
cherry petals
but
it has been watered
with the thick elixir of
wet, sugary blood.
and I saw a person
sleeping in the garden
creamy skin
silken gown
flowing as a stream
rotting
buried in blossoms
then comes the stench
eyes open in horror
fingers wilting
decaying
black syrup
overcoming me
I awake
lying in a garden of flowers.
Jonny - Melissa White
Jonny is the prostitute on Hollywood
and Vine, the child who just got
beat, the girl who got raped, the lady
who turned a 108.
Jonny is what you fear the most.
Jonny is the rat that bit you on
the butt, the bugs that crawl on you at
night, the monster under your bed,
the killer in your closet, the god in
your temple, the devil in your head.
Jonny, the killer
in all of us.
Scratches - Melissa White
The scratches are substitutes for
the pillow I couldn't throw, the room
I couldn't run to, the door I couldn't slam,
the vase I couldn't break, the joint I couldn't smoke,
the words I couldn't scream.
Gold - Lan Louie
This crystal glbutt
Once repel these acid tears
But one day,
Came along my greatest fears
And shattered this glbutt to my dismay
Now here it stands
A shadow upon itself
Now here I stand
A shadow upon myself
Everywhere it turns
So gray, so very gray
As the Frost can say,
"Nothing gold can stay"
(Untitled) - Perla Melendez
I just want to sail away in the broken night,
in a broken boat of wishes, to an island of angel fire, on a burning sea with cracks to fall through and no one to believe
I want to think of things that take me away to nowhere, drop me off and
leave me there, I want to wish a dream as impossible as it seems, to kill the
pain and right the wrong
I want to breathe in what the evil air puts out and inhale the wings to fly
I want to plant the seed and eat the weed to feel high - so I can get away,
for a day or just one night
I want someone to smack me hard and show me how they believe so I can
scream and pollute the air with pain
I want to remember the past I never had and throw up food I never
even ate, I want to pierce my tongue, and it hurts
I want to run away from everyone's voice and find my own
I just want to close my eyes and forget to dream and feel the heart shaped
puddle of blood breath my breaths and think my love and pound my head,
sail into that broken island and find the broken day in the broken night,
think in that broken way, find out what life is all about, and after all that,
find the way out.
Transmission - Michael Bancroft
Reprisal fills my mind
With speaking cucumbers
And plutonium stealing postal workers
Kill thy neighbor
And give a shrimp a hand-job
Past buttignments are killing my mind
While fries fly down from heaven.
A bony hand is in my eyesight.
It fights a gladiator with a pencil
From Spain.
The opponent uses paper made from
A European dog humper's butt
My jacket fills with bells
While the plagues destroy my mind.
Fire extinguishers put out fires made of
Desires.
Hatred - Kim Menaster
Surreal mirror of crying thoughts
Speaking of
Our lost apathy
Escaped in the rift
Of places that are unreachable
Places that
Shows tears of sorrow
Roses that show a fate
Fates that are lost
Never to surface
Without
Glossy surfaces
show everything lost
carrying obsession in its backpack
Throwing pieces of glbutt made by
Hatred.
Someone I know - Bianca Marquez
lonely girl.
heart full of cash,
mouth full of metal,
begins to cry
but nobody's looking.
Damn!
missed that chance
to impress them,
make them hate me
just a little more
Love is... - Bianca Marquez
is love what it's called
when someone hurts you
beyond reason
and you still don't leave?
is love
when he hits you
and he hits you again
and you won't let yourself cry
in fear you'll be punished?
is love
the abortion you have
after you were told
that he'd kill the baby
if you let it be born?
is love
when you tell your daughter
not to make the same mistakes
and she doesn't see the resemblance
of her husband
to her father?
Soon,
she'll know what love is.

I might post some more. They're straight from the books we had out. For three of my poems that I've already posted here, the links are as follows:
