how do i get my parents to stop being so over protective i mean i had to miss a party tonight because my mom thought i wouldnt be able to handle it... i mean wtf???are any of your parents like this or is it just mine??

your 13 rite? well i guess thats a little young your parents may consider u a child still, in which u sorta are. But yeah alot of people's parents are over protective, even mine and im 17..but im able to go to parties and stay out super late now because i just been really honest, open, and sneaky around my parents to win over their trust ;] ... Well you gotta be willing to lecture ur parents on how you can handle situations they think u cant, show them ur mature and show them ur ready for whatever u think u are...because sometimes u think u can but in reality u cant... win their trst and u win ur freedom oO;

ya but a bunch of my friends were gonna be there and they knew the pl who were throwing the party but still wouldnt let me go!! o well ill try to win ova there trust it may b hard tho considering wat ive done b4...

talk to her that ur old enough and if shes not gonna let u experience ur own life, u'll never learn whats right for u or not

heh my parents are like that..and im gonna be 19 next week!
my father is the big problem but like dreamguy said... you have to win their trust. u said that you have done some things before that didnt make them too happy right? .. just talk to them and let them know you can do good and dont mess it up!
but sometimes parents are just hard headed and they feel like you are too young.. which u kinda are. dont worry have patence and u'll be able to party hehe

What seems like the end of the world now will be forgotten in a few weeks. Talk to your parents about why they don't want to let you go. Perhaps you'll be able to work something out with them in the future...

They're only protective, because they don't want anything to happen to you. And they held you from the party just in case something happens that you aren't ready to handle yet. Right now, it seems like they might've ruined your social life, but when looking back on it...you'll think you're parents cared a lot for you.

what have you done before? i tell you what, once you lose anyones trust its pretty hard to get it back. if you had sex or something then dont expect them to let you go to partys for a LONG time..but it depends on what you did.

my parents are a little over-protective too...they only let me go to parties with "parental supervision" lol
