This is basically for guys, i'm a girl, and i like to learn about things. Even if i don't like something, i still think its neat to learn about it so that i don't just go and say that i don't like something and be ignorant about it. So Football... is something that i don't understand. And i don't LIKE it... because i can't understand it. LOL. It's more of a frustration type thing. Well... i'm trying to learn about the positions and all etc. But all the guys keep making fun of me for even trying... So my question is...

Is this a hopeless cause for me to TRY and learn football? Or should i keep on going? What do you guys think? Do you like it if a girl tries to learn football? Or do you think that she's automatically hopeless?

football is easy as hell, easier than baseball cuz it has all these abbreviations like rbi and others...all football has is 4 quarters, 4 downs, yards to first down, and positions. Its harder if u actually are trying to play it cuz the routes and plays and rules like holding are more difficult to remember

I'm not trying to learn how to play... just trying to learn enough to where i can understand it when i'm watching the game... But there's so many positions!

I dont think anything is wrong with girls playing football... I love to play football its fun

keep learning and training, there were some BUILT girls that used to play football in my old middle school. haha it was always funny to see them tackle someone because usually they could've taken down anyone.

well, i'm a pretty awesome wide reciever, runningback and punt returner or whatever... so if i can do it, so can you.

i've been playin football forever at school i played TE for 3 years.. but then my dad went all protective parent and wouldnt lemme play when they guys started gettin bigger and.. uh.. manlier [if thats a word lol] i can punt like a son-of-a-gun too
football+girls dont have to be enemies. seriously women... get out there and play-- it's fun

hmm well imma gurl and play flag foe my skoo...its not that hard juss kinda hafta avoid the really big guy....well hmm the basics juss theres a quatrer back and he/she throws it to the wide receicers..while thas hapening...the defensive sides tries to stop them from catchin or if they cant they tryn tackle/pull flag/ two hand touch them b4 thy reach the td line...and if the offensive side does make a touch down the they do a kick foe an extra point

try some courses for amateurs/beginners u'll gradually be addicted to it!!

Last year... I knew absolutely NOTHING about football... the positions, how to play... the rules... and now? I know it all. I understand it.

It doesn't hurt that I'm such an avid Patriots fan so I keep learning more and more...

hmm you could ask some guy friends or your dad or something to explain it a bit to you..i finally got it after awhile =]

and then i got my friend [a girl] to teach me football cause she was playing powder puff..she taught me to throw and catch..but i'm terrible at throwing. and sometimes i practice with my other friend, also a girl =D

i love football. i'm a girl, i've grown up with 3 sisters, my mom and my dad. all our lives my sisters and i have grown up watching football and being tomboys (we've still got our femine sides, though) i'll get out there and play with the guys. i dunno if this is a good or bad thing, but some of 'em are kinda scared of me cause they know i'll kick their ass. i've just grown up knowing it, so i understand pretty much all the terms and stuff. i love the sport.
