This is coming from someone that is an avid sports fan and believes in equality (in certain aspects).

I know there are pro women's sport teams like soccer and basketball. But what about football? Baseball? I know women that play as well or better than the guys. There is also the movie "A League of their Own". That was real. Women did play pro baseball back then. Why can't they now?

And, one more thing. Do you think if that ever gets done, should they be gender separated or coed teams?

I think there are Pro Softball teams, Pro Hockey teams, etc. Not sure about football though . . . haven't you seen the olympics? There are a bunch of womens events and teams. Now as for the popularity and media coverage, I understand where you're coming from. For example the X-Games: The female skating competitions are never aired, and if they are it's just the highlights! Now that's unfair.

I think women should be allowed to have their pro sports and have air time as well :P

The problem can also be that not enough women are interested in it for a team, and if they're put in game with men the game will be unbalanced-- not necessarily because of physical problems, but men might want to "go easy" on the girls.

Ugh, men are.... blah.



Here in New York there is a Women's Basebal association. They have like ten or more teams. They can come up with a league. As for guys going easy on girls, there should then be a rule saying that if they do that, they'll be fined or something,

im all up for womens sports and i wish that they would air them more on tv. all i ever see is mens soccer.

I think it has to do a lot with like the interest of the public. If these major companies broadcast the event they'll need to have major ratings in order to keep it up. So it all has to do with us, the viewers, and most likely people aren't really interested in the female events. That's just the way it is.

IN Roman Times, women were allowed to -- infact many women were FORCED to -- fight as gladiators, so they should be allowed to be sports...women today. If there isn't enough interest, we can drag some from the latest barbarian tribe.

i think girls should be allowed to play sports...i want to play hockey when im older i think there could be teams with girls and guys together and teams of one gender.

Right... Anywho, I'm all for women sports as well. I believe there's some type of league around here in Pittsburgh that has a female football team, but of course, it's not popular whatsoever. I know because I was at a parade one time and they were in it.

There are many barbarians that reside north of Pittsburgh. We can enslave them all and force them to fight in the arena.

If there is no interest they can always do something to appeal to the people. Use uniforms like in " A League of their Own". Skirts to play baseball. I'm pretty sure guys would like that, .

i agree with women playing pro sports...every1 should b equal...its tru many pple dont like it and are not interested in it....4 example soccer....the us mens soccer team has never won a world cup and it is rank 10th.....the womens soccer team is ranked 2nd in the world and won the last womens world cup and are on there way 2 win in the olympics...the mens soccer team didnt even qualify for the olympics....still most pple support the men then women...also on air wise they show more men soccer than women...not fair thats the world 4 u

A) have small/skimpy/revealing uniforms
B) Are jumping up and down a lot

i actually dont think they should be on the same teams...i mean it would nice to be able to compete against everybody.. there would be so much tension and guys would like go crazy if girls beat them...and you know...but yes there should be a female football leauge and stuff but not enough women actually play to get a alugue of there own really...

To tell you the truth, buddy, women can be as good or better than men. Of course, they might not be as strong, but they can certainly be faster (that's why we are smaller than u guys). Women can do whatever they want if they so choose to. If a woman does well in sports it doesn't mean that she has masculine inclinations. Besides, women *have* balls. They're just up higher.

Why do women have to wear skimpy uniforms (or nothing at all, like some guys have suggested) in order for there to be coverage of their games? That's a very naive thing to suggest. And immature.

viewers enjoy watching big men tackle each other for a pigskin, and like to watch men slap a puck back and forth

and some coaches have a contract to keep, and they think that if they had a woman the team, the men wouldn't be as focused, they would lose their games, lose air time, lose money, and lose his job

making a new league is difficult, the womens soccer had to close because not enough people were going to their games or even watching on tv, often spectators believe that the men's game would be more enjoyable then watching girls play a game.

Why must society be so darn sexist? Women can show their worth if they were only allowed too.

Ok, women may not be as big as men, but then can still play. Have you ever been tackled by a fit woman? (I have, and as fit as I am, which is very, it was not a pretty thing).

Society needs to give women a chance to show that they can be as good or better than guys in many things.
