You're supposed to take a break from everything and just lay low in your "dating life" or whatever.. because when you take a break, you're not being dumped.. with a technicality, they are still your boyfriend/girlfriend.

a break is just a temporary time apart from your boyfriend/girlfriend. It's just a break from each other to see if the feelings are still there or to figure out if you still want to be with them. You can hang out with different people, but dating other people-- ehh... I wouldn't suggest it. What if you started dating somebody new, and ur old boyfriend wanted you back? Then you'd be stuck with two boys! =/ If u want to date somebody else, then you should just break it off completely.

If my bf asked to go on a break, I wouldn't wanna take him back.
