ugh i didn't know where to put this.. cB seriously needs a Rant section..

My Schooli go to a small highschool in a big city. we're the vanguard program, meaning we're the really smart kids. everyone is "GT" which means gifted and talented. we are the shizznit of high schoolers in my city.

Campuswe just got this campus we're at three years ago. it used to be an elementary school, which is okay because we don't have many students. we have four hallways of classrooms and a temporary building to house every class for 9th to 12th grade and still have empty rooms. we even made some of those rooms a media center, gym, and student lounge. we've still got room.

Budgetmy school's biggest problem is the budget. we're $300,000 in debt. $300,000 is also what was conviently cut from us because the schooldistrict can't afford the Small School Subsidy Fund. its my understanding that our budget is a little under $1 mil dollars. we're having to cut corners and classes.

Cutsthis upcoming school year will be minus a french class, german class, art1 (lack of interest), drama, creative writing, women's literature, nurse, and magnet coordinator. the language options are now Latin and Spanish. we've only got one spanish teacher.

Multiple Subject Teachers i can't think of one teacher that doesn't teach more than one subject. my gym coach is also the geography and economics teacher. my geometry teacher also teachs latin and statistics. the remaining art teacher also teachs philosophy, psychology, and world religions i believe. my algebra teacher also teachs physics and astronomy. last year my english teacher was also doing drama, creative writing, and women's lit. with her resignation also went her subjects.

Hope we're getting a new principal this year, said to be an expert at penny-pinching and working the system lol he's also my former 5th grade teacher and best friend's former asst. principal. the bad side - its a tiny school, i'm the only one who's met him before, he'll notice me. the rule of school for me has always been fly under the radar. its never good to have the adminstration office knowing your name. i've just been singled out. wish me luck.
